To put this in perspective and how down Marshall had been. Our current true freshman were in Kindergarten the last time Marshall was ranked in the Top 25.

Woo hoo. Great season so far for the Herd. Will be pulling for 'em the rest of the way.

Congrats to Marshall…Think you guys should be higher but we all know how the "establishment" has a double standard when it comes to programs outside of the "Privileged 5".

Congrats and well deserved! I'll cheer for you in all but one of your remaining games, and you'll win that one by at least 3 TDs.

All right, MARSHALL! MT has made the Ultimate Sacrifice (getting Creamed) being defeated by the Thundering Herd. Now in the interest of CUSA, and in the words of the M.I. Team Leader" Your Mission, if you choose to accept it..." IS TO GO UNDEFEATED AND GET THE ACCESS BOWL INVITE!!!!!! This tape will self-destruct in 5 seconds.

So what will we call it if we fail our mission. Houston is gone. Coogin' it isn't really an option anymore. Herd'n it doesn't have the same ring. How 'bout we got thunderstruck? I like it.

Don't even talk about it. The only teams to be thunderstruck are the ones Marshall will be putting a thrashing on (which means all teams remaining on Marshall's schedule)!

Go kick some ass, Herd!

If you keep doing what you're doing it won't matter that ecu beat two cabal teams. You just can't ignore scoring more than 40 points and keeping the other teams in the dust. And that's because your coach is putting in the subs or it would be worst. I'm a believer now Marshall but keep it classy anyway.

RE: Week 8 AP and Coaches Poll - Marshall 25th and 24th respectively.
I think there are a couple of ways for Marshall to "pass" ECU in the eyes of the committee if they haven't done so already.

1) ECU loses another game.

2) Marshall is the only team in the country that is undefeated after 13 games.

I think option 2) is interesting and might have more weight than we think. It's definitely a possibility. The problem with the 'eye test' is that I'm not sure if the committee members have seen Marshall play. If they watch Marshall's offense absolutely torch a defense for a half, they'll know that they are even better than the scorelines on the games they've played.

Supposedly, each committee member will watch each game that is played by every team in contention for the spot. They are providing them with IPads and coaches cuts of al games. It's basically a season long audition.

Yes, each team in "playoff contention." I don't think they are looking at cuts of every Marshall game, or every ECU game for that matter because neither of us have a prayer of making the playoff.
