Lack of Shame
After the Huskies miserable performance yesterday, Rod Carey owes all alumni, students, fans and President Baker a personal apology. Instead what NIU fans got in his post game interview with Bill Baker was Carey being an aloof, arrogant jerk. He took no personal responsibility for what happened yesterday. NIU has a lot more talent than CMU and should of won the game. Rod Carey has no sense of shame and he needs to immediately go. His jackwagon behavior alone is a serious detriment to NIU.

Just my thoughts.

Rod Carey owes you nothing. Enough with the entitlement mentality. It's not feasible to win every game by 30 points like most of the fans on this board want. There will be bad games and losses.

Deal with it.

Maybe there are reasons to be concerned right now about coaching, I think that's fair, but yes its too early to be calling for a coach to be fired.

He just said Carey is an arrogant punk

He has no people skills and seems like a prick!

Just my opinion

Not saying fire him but saying he sounds like an unlikeable prick

I demanded an apology from the sun after that sunburn I got one time. Worked out pretty well.

RE: Lack of Shame
One thing about Novak when his vanilla offense and lack of talent lost some questionable games like 06 EMU for example, the first thing the guy did was take absolute responsibility for it. Then again, there aren't many joe novak's in this world so maybe that's not a great point but...Carey's post game interview yesterday was a trend that has to make SF a little uneasy.

Thoughts? "On the game?" Seriously, if I was doing that interview I would have given some lip. Not accountability, arrogance, aloof.

Everyone is right... Doesn't matter and our expectations are too high.

However...set an example for kids and control what you can control and be a good sport doing it. If you are interviewed, be a good sport, be humble, move on. If the guy isn't doing that, I'm concerned about how it translates inside the locker room.

National writers like Forde have a strong dislike for Carey for this reason... If it spirals you can be sure they will take their chances to jump on him and that is a problem.

RE: Lack of Shame
We got outplayed and lost a game, no shame in that. We have some limitations on offense right now being without McIntosh, Tommylee and Akeem. I don't think anyone feels too sorry for us. The coaches need to adjust to the personnel we have available and figure out how to win next Saturday. No shame, that's just football.

So are plenty of other football coaches. He isn't the only one.

Maybe it is time for SF to talk to Carey about PR 101.

He owes you nothing. You have no sense of reality if you expect something like that from him. You lose every once in a while. NIU just so happened to not lose at home for a long time. You have no one to blame but yourself if you didn't take the time to enjoy it.

Not sure what the complaint is for. He said CMU was the better team today and they won. Also said their running game was excellent and we didn't execute on d very well.

True... but it was 2 games in a row of struggling offensively. Thankfully the first one was Kent St, able to get a win. It seems like NIU was better earlier in the season. At this point in the season, you'd figure they'd be on more solid ground. It wasn't just a "these games happen". It's how they win / lose. If it was due to crazy turnovers & penalties -- OK. But it wasn't. Same with the Kent State game that NIU had to hold on close to win.

Carey does owe NIU an apology. He is the grinch that stole NIU's homecoming! He should be a man and take responsibility for his actions. In 1993 Notre Dame was ranked #1 and were playing Boston College at home on the last game of the season. They were a 16 point favorites to win. They ended up losing that game 41-39 and a chance to play for the national championship. After the game Lou Holtz publically apologized to Notre Dame and took personal responsibility for the loss. He did not act like an arrogant prick or blame 19 year old kids. He manned up! That speaks volumes about his character! Carey's behavior after yesterdays loss speaks volumes about his character.

Also, if Carey owes NIU fans noting then NIU fans do not owe him anything. So I do not want to see you ever criticizing anyone who rips into Carey. According to you they owe him no respect.

At least everyone who was worried about Coach Carey being snapped up by a power conference team can rest easy. The rest of us, not so much so.

I pretty much agree with you. All he said is we didn't execute. While that is true but you also got out coached last night and wouldn't own up to it on the post game.

I will say he doesn't owe anyone anything.

However, he is over his head, arrogant, no people or interview skills and I really believe translates into coaching. I still say he really believes no blame goes upon himself.

34 points in 2 weeks. And UMASS put 40 on Kent.
