I'm not making any accusations here, but would be curious who would be privy to what happened two hours before the game? The gates open 90 minutes before kickoff, so no fans would have witnessed it. Basically only media would have been there. I saw nothing in media tweets before the game. Doesn't mean nothing happened, just curious.

Officials usually aren't even on the field at that point, either. Perhaps this crew was out early, though.

Regardless, I was disappointed in MTSU's traveling party. That is a good matchup, a short road trip, and there weren't any more than comp tickets there numbers wise. Hopefully this builds into a game that is played on Saturdays and becomes a destination game for the opposing fan bases to see.

If anything if this turns out to be a rivalry it'll do wonders for your attendance on both sides. You can have more than one rival, there's no law that says you can only have one. We have two and they're both in new mexico.

This will all seem pretty silly when UAB beats both our asses. Kind of like the US and Russia going at it while China slowly builds an army of one billion in the background.

Whatever you do, Marshall - if you are going to lose a conf game, at least lose 2. If you won't lose 2, then you better win them all. If my Blue Raiders can't play for the championship, I'd like to get a slice of that access money, at least...

middle has had degenerate gamblers man the qb position. they've had players choke their girlfriend and hit her with a small baseball bat demanding weed money. had a fine christian boy eye gouge a future naval officer.

but marshall's qb 'supposedly' talking smack to not so saintly stocktill 2 hours before a game merits this much discussion?

just say marshall is light years better than you this year. we'll be saying that after we leave huntinton.

it's a game played by former and future criminals by and large.....and we're worried about cato talking. smdh.

I'm just hoping this series grows to that point. Doesn't have to be a heated series or anything. Would be nice to make some new friends to look forward to tailgating with every year. That's what college football is all about. You don't have to be defensive, seriously.

I'm sorry. I work Wednesday through Sunday in Memphis and starting Jan 1 it'll be Friday through Tuesday. I'll do better to make it to all games in the future.

Like I said, 100 legitimate reasons for any individual fan. I didn't make it to MTSU last year, either. I work overnights 5 nights a week, then Friday evening and some early Saturday mornings. It's rough. Last year's game being on Thursday gave me no chance to go.

I work with an MTSU alum in Huntington, and one of my bosses, who lives in the same small high school district I do, has a daughter who went to MTSU. It's a small world out there.

My point, however, is that I hope this game is one folks like you and I can plan vacation/days off around in the future. MTSU has more drivable games than Marshall due to location, but I just would like to see more. It adds to the atmosphere.

That's a good point. If this game truly becomes a rivalry game and it's set hard into the calendar (same with WKU), I can plan my vacation time accordingly. To give you an idea, my leave for next year had to be put in last month. It's impossible for me to make plans to come watch games in person when the schedule is put out in March.

Yeah I am in that boat. I like to go to road games but being fall break I had booked my room in the House of Mouse long before the schedule came out. The wife is pretty awesome about my football habits but I think she would draw the line at the kid's Mickey time.
