I've seen 3 games, and was 1 row back of the houston bench. The other games you could hear the pads popping on the line, on both D. and Off., but last night the only pop i heard was from a houston player hitting a Mem. ball carrier. We was not penetrating there offense line at all. That game was not only lost by turnovers, but in the trenches. This was not the same def. line we brought to the first 5 games.

RE: Thoughts from the game
I never understood why Lynch kept throwing across the middle, and he kept getting intercepted. Didn't make sense at all. It was like the Houston defense knew the play was coming. The other thing was with our 34 defense, the quarterback only had to delay a few seconds and then could run straight up the middle because our line had shifted elsewhere. These two things led to our downfall, along with the turnovers.

I thought we did not know how to contain their QB (wait until we play Temple they have one just like him and he can throwi) and our offensive strategy was very poor against their defense. I cannot believe how many times we tried to run it up the middle with a scat back. Our only meaningful rushing yards were on the outside. Lynch looked intimated by their D or maybe confused is a better opinion.
Honestly I do not accept the "be grateful were at 3-3 record" when we should have beat this team. Yes, I do believe we should have beat them.

Bottom line. Their D line was better than our O line. And it ripples its way to 3rd and long, which typically translates to picks.

Excellent discussion. My question, or thought, was why the missed tackles. What happened there? CJF mentioned it, and I wonder what happened? That is all.

I was saying the same thing thru out the game. No energy, poor tackling and they just didn't show that same fire and kick ass attitude that they've shown in prior games. Also thought our offensive line had a very poor game, Paxton was running for his life all night long and not being able to push it in when we had it first-n-goal on the 3 just showed the struggles we had up front. I also think that things will get better and improve in quick fashion. Off week then on to SMU. Still think this team will be in a bowl game, and yep, I'll be right there with them....GO TIGERS!!!!

Geez, when you have 5 turnovers and only lose by 4 points it basically says we should have won the game. Paxton had a bad game. Hopefully, he will reconsider throwing into triple coverage in the future. He is a sophomore....and going to get better.

It is tough to lose this one but missed tackles and turnovers will do that every time unless you just totally outclass the opponent. I think last night was easily the worst game we've played this year. I hope I can still make that statement after the bowl game.

Looking at the rest of the schedule I see at least 4-2 to finish 7-5; 8-4 is not out of the question.

Going bowling.

Yeah you're probably right. We're better than that team though. They came in and stole this one from us.

Backyard QBs like Ward scare the hell out of me. And he got us.

I was very disapointed with the crowd, it looked small on TV.

Well I usually sit on the east side but Saturday I sat with some of the "good posters". It was appalling to say the least.

Maybe you should coach the team?

I noticed the same thing. I'm not sure why, but we just didn' t have the same "take no prisoners attitude". Hopefully from here on out, we will play every game the same as the first 4 in terms of preparation, effort and attitude. Is so, we can win out.
