They've got a QB who can run. Not sure he can pass.

It will require another game of sitting on the run and making them beat you with the pass. I don't know if Bell is the real deal, or Buffalo simply wasn't prepared for a running QB. We'll see how other teams respond.

Im really hoping Buffalo just sucks, because using the transitive property that would mean we have a chance at BG.

Running qb's have been our Achilles heal for years at WMU. Not that confident in our lbs vs. that kind of player. Hell EMU has been a pain in our ass forever.

Hard to get up for EMU, and Im not sure why. It's not as if they roll over for us.

That said, I like our chances against a one trick pony team. If he were the next Time Tebow a "great coach" like Creighton would have had him on the field weeks ago.

EMU has a game that will give us fits.

Edwards should have lit us up, but he didn't. Russell and UT's RBs should have lit us up, but they didn't. Both BSU and UT had ground games and passing attacks. I'm not sure EMU has a passing game, and if not, we, and every team that faces them will sit on the run.

On the flip side, if our vaunted DBs can't cover and our LBers can't tackle if he leaves the pocket, then we're in trouble.

In other words, I have no idea. Could be a huge blowout, or it could be a game like we saw today. Worst case scenario I think we can outscore them.

It does not matter what happens between now and then. I will not feel confident going into that game.

As a long time WMU fan, I always fear the worst.

Terrell goes out with a broken hand, Davis blows his knee, Franklin gets homesick and leaves the team, Braverman knocks up his girlfriend and decides to become a full time stay at home dad, and Thomas Rawls goes on to be MAC POY.

Until last years basketball season that's the world I lived in. Maybe Hawkins opened the door to change all that. We'll see.

Im really hoping Buffalo just sucks, because using the transitive property that would mean we have a chance at BG.

He's a redshirt freshman, if our coach can work on his passing you might see Denard Robinson 2.0 in the next few years.

So he'll flame out in every big game and wind up as a third string QB by the end of his senior year?

I'll give you that one, that was pretty good.

RE: EMU will be no push over
Saw some of the highlights on espn. Com. Weird effect with the gray field and the gray uniforms. It literally looked like a black and white game. Pretty cool actually but I thought I read somewhere that the ncaa didn't allow boise to wear their all blues on their blue field anymore. Thought it'd be the same for Eastern.

It did. When I flipped over to that game on my TV, it started with a replay of a Buffalo guy running down the field -- which I thought was a B&W video with him highlighted in color. I thought that was some cool new ESPN "replay effect". No. The EMU team & field is in B&W. Weird!

They do that to help Home Field Advantage, I'm sure.

If people start losing at EMU, but EMU loses by 17-30 everywhere else -- I think people are going to cry foul. It's WEIRD.

You sure it wasn't just the Pepsi challenge buying up 8,000 tix?

That's good. For MAC schools it's important to win at home as many of the students only casually follow the MAC and don't realize what their team is doing away from their home field. Keep winning at home and more fans will show up.
