Running clock after out of bounds....
Nevermind.
Ball Out Of Bounds (Rule 3-2-5-a-12). When a ball is carried or fumbled out of bounds, the game clock will stop, as always. Beginning in 2008 the game clock will start on the referee's signal when the ball is ready for play, not on the snap. In the last two minutes of the half, however, the clock will start on the snap as before, preserving the ability of the offensive team to maximize strategic use of the clock.

RE: Running clock after out of bounds....
Before this gets out of hand, we didn't get screwed. The refs didn't charge us a timeout when they stopped the clock a few plays earlier so it evened out. The clock was ultimately where it should have been.

This is true but after 30 years of watching and playing football that was the most BS bit of clock management by an officiating crew I have ever seen at any level.
The entire final 2:30 was one WTF move after another?
How the hell can Houston call a time out at the 2 minute warning? And why the hell would they want to call a timeout?

It was incredibly sloppy but it wound up being right where it should have been.

There is no 2 minute warning in college football.

So much fail in these posts....this is college fellas.
The clock only stops in the last 2 minutes of each half when out of bounds. It stops initially and starts when the ball is set outside of 2 minutes. There's was over 2 mins left.
There is no 2 minute warning in CFB.

You are correct. I forget that every time
Dead giveaway than I'm an NFL fanatic and not a big college FB fan.

The two things in question: Memphis took a timeout and wasn't charged a timeout. Then the refs let the clock run after Ward went out of bounds. In the end, it didn't matter. That was not one of Lynch's better games.

I was almost like both coaches knew there was a screw up and they knew the refs were correcting it play by play.
I kept wondering why neither coach was reacting.
Just odd.

Out of bounds in college ONLY stops the clock until the ball is set UNLESS it happens in the last 2 mins of each half. Then it stops until snapped

Lynch throws the ball well when we have a running game going. Like 90% of QB's.

Running the play clock to zero to maximize how much time ran off the game clock. Called the TO to not have a delay of game.

The possession before that when they punted the clock ran after the 3rd down incomplete pass. Does the clock run after I completes now?
