Anyone know the purpose of 4:00PM start? Seems odd to consistently start at 4:00.

I am fairly sure that athletics did a survey asking what the ideal kickoff time would be. The late afternoon kickoff gives people who are not diehards the morning and early afternoon to get things done then show up for the game without being rushed.

I wonder if athletics would ever consider a ticket exchange. I love to sit on the East side for the black out games...er um I mean the weeknight November games.

After they stamp your hand is there anything stopping you from reentering on the east side? I havent tried it but was just wondering.

The later that you start a game, the fans spend more money on souvenirs, clothing, food, and restaurant visits around campus.... It's all money related......................

Not in my case as far as food and restaurants go. When the games were in the early afternoon, my group would go out for a light lunch/late breakfast and then a nice dinner after the game. Not any longer. We now eat exclusively at the Champions Tent/Yard and at the game. With the game ending around 7 p.m., we now just head straight home because we live over 80 miles away. We will not be going to a DeKalb restaurant until basketball starts.

We should have a 4pm start unless espn wants us. Fox sports net used to tell us went to play and it was a good deal and that guy worked with us on comcast. Comcast now is singing a different tune would be great to have them back.

We should have some CSN games next year after all the new deals were put in place this fall.

You are so right. My friend is a band promoter, he would start the concert anywhere from 15 minutes to a half hour late if the concession stands were packed with fans buying stuff.

I am not sure how much influence NIU has in announcing the game time. The game is on ESPN3.com, my guess is ESPN is waiting to put the ESPN3 lineup together 12 days in advance and then the game time is announced.

I have west side season tickets and went in on the East side in the second half of the Presbyterian game. I also read somewhere that athletics will let you exchange west side tickets for East side. Not sure if this is true or if anyone has done this.

For the Toledo game I almost certainly will do west side first half, east side second half.

Weather will be much cooler this Saturday than last. But much warmer than two Saturdays ago. Highs in the mid 50s and sunny, but the DeKalb winds return. Sustained winds of 17 mph gusting near 25 out of the Northwest. Very breezy for all you Convo tailgaters.

By the end of the game, temps pull back to 50 degrees with winds of 10 mph.

perfect football weather. I actually have 10+ coming, and had 0 last week due to other commitments.

However, 3rd straight Saturday game, can't expect it to be great.

Weather.gov pulling back on the temps. Now highs in the low 50s dropping back to 45 degrees by the end of the game.

I thought this game was not on ESPN. I hope I am mistaken.

That's a cool idea. I've never experienced Toledo on the East side yet. Probably something every fan should experience. Was it the 04 Toledo game that prompted NIU to change the side the players stand on cause the students were giving it to the visitors so badly.

It is a MAC wide rule because there were issues with most of the student seats being behind the visitor's bench.
