I don't think recruiting has anything to do with it. Coaching is the key factor. I find it hard to believe we can get much more talent than what we got. We're not going to start getting 4 and 5 Star guys under Clark. Right now our O-line is good. QB, good. WRs, good. TEs, good. RBs, good. D-Line, good. LBs, good. DBs, good. Besides, the players we have on the roster will probably be our starters for the next 2-3 years. Our team isn't old.

I'm starting to get afraid of coming to UAB this season. Forget thinking about 3 years out.

But seriously, it does look like my Blazers have been taking copious notes. We even have a study guide and everything.

After having faced arguably the best team in the country, the best defense in the conference, and one of its better offenses, we certainly know a lot about ourselves. We just got our first full quarterly dividend on that.

I just have one question, what was the purpose of this thread?

I suspect he's just a bit excited and anticipating UAB getting to shut the mouths of our critics who have had fun at UABs expense over the years. People in the current CUSA have treated UAB football like we have always been a doormat and perennial cellar-dweller. Those of us who have been around the program long enough know that isn't where UAB has always been. Nor is it where we belong.

Having said all of that, I prefer to let our players do the talking and give the haters their reality check. It's been a long time coming. Heck, 10 years of bad football is half a generation, but it's time for people to change their mindset about UAB football.

Bill Clark is a defensive mind. It's time for a return of the Steel Shield.
