If he keeps this up and rushes for 1000+ and a nation leading number of touchdowns how do you not? I don't care if he ends of 5th he would totally deserve the spotlight (and Western by association). Especially as other top Heisman candidates get caught signing illegal autographs. This kid is amazing.

No. He would have to have transcendent statistics or be part of a top 10 MAC team with the stats he is sure to compile. Hopefully some Doak votes but even that is doubtful. The Heisman invites go to top vote getters, its not a reward for great seasons.

He should be, Franklin is amazing!

Regardless of where we finish, you have to think he at least gets some recognition if he's pushing 1500 / 25+ come season's end.

If you're not in a P5 conference & being a winning team, you need to be one of the elite G5 teams in the country and vying for the Access Bowl.

If not, he would need to CRUSH every other RB in the country, even against Strong P5 competition, in yards, yards/rush, and rushing TDs -- against ALL P5 competition not slowing him down either (or super strong rush D from a G5). VaTech, one of the better D's in the country -- if he ran 150 yards on them @ 5.5yds/carry, and did also instead did great against Toledo (I know, he was a bit semi-injured) -- then maybe all we'd have to do is win the Mac West for him to Possibly get a nomination.

If we go 9-4, winning the MAC -- and he does what he did here and crushes everyone? He'll get looks, but not a nomination. Probably get Freshman Running Back of the Year (if there is one).

With stats like that, he might just garner All MAC first team honors if he can overcome the Ohio media bias. Probably will be another Bronco freshman All American.

He's a freshman on a completely insignificant team. Won't matter what he does stay wise.

There have been plenty of dominant RBs over the years that don't get consideration simply because of where they play.

Yep. Kevin Smith was the example I was going to use but I didn't have his exact stats handy. But he is a perfect example. I remember plenty of talk about him but his team wasn't very good.

It all depends on the rest of the season. If he crushes it, he should.
