Keep in mind that the band is about to take the field at the beginning of the half when this was taken. You're looking at about 30k seats out of the 72k that the stadium holds.

The capacity is 72 now? I thought the upper deck that was torn down was larger. Seems i remember 86 as capacity way back when.

Yeah, that's about right. removing the upper deck dropped it down from 86,000 to 72,000

Well, 75,808 was capacity before the upper deck was added. Officially 71,594 since it was removed. The size of the numbered seats must have grown over the years.

We're not claiming that there were 60,000 people there, just that the crowd UAB has had all season are respectable numbers for this conference. It's just a matter of the stadium being way too large for our fanbase.

That crowd would pretty good in a 31k seat stadium like most of you have.

What you don't see in the photo was the folks in the suites, Blazerclub, Champions Club, and the folks scattered in the upper deck.

We don't deal 60k but we are proud of what we do draw after 10 years of losing and hope to grow it as our program grows. Blazer fans are pretty damn die hard.

UAB really concerns me. The Blazers are playing well and we never play well in B'ham.

Congratulations UAB. Best of luck with the rest of your season. You have a solid team and a good coach. I apologize for the lack of competition yesterday. I hope North Texas can get our issues straightened out and become a better representative for this conference.
