SI: "Heisman Trust removes 'integrity' from mission statement's first line"
It looks like The Heisman Trust is trying to steer clear of moral issues when awarding the highest honor for a single college football player. The third line of the Mission Statement still reads, “The Heisman Trophy Trust ensures the continuation and integrity of this award.” but why did they feel the need to take it out of the first sentence and the motto that has represented it for years.

I realize everyone makes mistakes, these are just kids, no one is perfect, and a lot of people will think I am making too much out of it. It just makes me sad to see athletes being praised and awarded regardless of what they do off of the field.

I don't disagree with you but best college player is not the same as best human being. I think they will regret taking that route as a hardline, but whatever. There is very little integrity left in sports of any kind, anymore.

Interestingly enough I went to check SI's website for some more college football updates and found this.

Heisman Trust: Integrity 'erroneously omitted' from Mission Statement

The Heisman is a popularity contest. Lineman should win it most years if it went to the best players.

It's gonna be Dak Prescott if Mississippi State keeps winning. It's all about being shinny and new.
