Week 7 possible upsets
My apologies if someone is already doing this but it has been fun surmising during previous weeks and having done pretty well for myself in previous weeks, I would like to continue the conversation with folks who would also like to take a crack.
So, the first upset possibility for me is the Texas vs #11 Oklahoma game. Before hand, obvious Oklahoma is the big favorite but most folks would have said the same about TCU and Oklahoma last week. Actually most did because I remember saying to watch out for TCU.
Texas has it's issues but it has and will always have studs on the team. Their problem has been discipline and cohesion. If anything though can bring them together, it is this rivalry. If this Texas team is gonna pull it together at all this season, this is the game to watch for it to happen.
My second pick would be Duke at #22 Georgia Tech. Sorry GTS but you always got to be wary of Cutcliff and crew these days. They got beat up pretty bad last week but they have shown they can have a high scoring offense. I think they will stack up better athletically against GT than they did against Miami.
My next upset pick will probably be another one that most folks wont get on board with but this one is #7 Alabama at Arkansas. Alabama is having a bit of a controversy this week. Either they will answer it or they will allow the call out from McCarron to rattle them as it obviously did to Saban. They are going to Arkansas. Arkansas has played tough all year. Is this the game where they bring it all together at home to beat an Alabama team that has been proven to not be indestructible? Definitely a game to watch as it is on ESPN not the SECN.
My last upset bid for the week is #14 Texas A&M getting redemption at home against #3 Ole Miss as the cannibalization continues.

RE: Week 7 possible upsets
Being an Ole Miss fan, I obviously hope that one doesn't fall that way, but as a Texas fan since childhood, I would love an upset over the Sooners. I just can't see it happening. Oklahoma is pretty strong all over and the Longhorns just have too many holes.
The A&M/Ole Miss game is a big one. A&M has the nation's most efficient offense statistically and Ole Miss is the nation's most efficient defense. Defense keeps you in games, but offense wins them. Hard to pick this one and I am certainly biased. However, I think this game will be won up front. Both have accurate quarterbacks, big play receivers and large, physical offensive lines. The A&M defense is smart, active and disruptive, but they got pushed around physically by Mississippi State last week. If Ole Miss is able to do the same, then the Rebels could win. If A&M is able to sustain drives and get touchdowns instead of field goals (something others haven't been able to do this season), then the Aggies should win. With over 100,000 at Kyle Field, the stadium will be rockin'. I just hate that it's going to be an 8pm kickoff.
This weekend is ripe for a few upsets, though we shouldn't see the carnage we witnessed last week. Most of the top 25 is playing on the road and, in games between ranked teams, the higher ranked team is on the road. Oklahoma, Georgia Tech, and Arizona are exceptions, though unranked USC is actually favored over No. 10 Arizona.
Because of their positions in the rankings, I'd still have to call a USC win an upset and I believe that will happen, throwing the PAC12 into more chaos. So my upset picks for today are:
USC over Arizona
UCLA over Oregon
TCU over Baylor
And my insignificant pick of the day... winless UMass (0-6) upsets 2-point favorite and also winless Kent State (0-5)

Well, consider me a believer in the State of Mississippi football now. That Arkansas game was so damn close. Saved by a missed extra point. This win does nothing to sweep away the cloud hanging over the Alabama program.

The extra point was blocked. But Arkansas did miss a field goal in the first half. They clearly outplayed Alabama. And as to the cloud hanging over Alabama it is Lane Kiffin. He's a flying Dutchman.
