RE: Open Thread - Week 7
Even though I'm 99% sure that DB for Ga Tech did NOT intend to hit the Duke WR in the head, the fact that he launched his body and DID hit him in the head makes his ejection a good call, IMO. GT fans may disagree, but since refs can't read minds I think that's a good call...

RE: Open Thread - Week 7
First the offsides on the punt, then the targeting, now a Duke TD... the Yellow Jackets gift-wrapped this one.

Duke 7 - Ga Tech 3

BTW, I'm watching online on the ACC Digital Network - not bad.

Duke 14, GT 6 - but GT is driving in the red zone (unable to punch it in so far, though).

Meanwhile, Miami & FSU continue to roll.
Miami 24, Cincinnati 10
FSU 24, Syracuse 6

Can't judge Syracuse by this game.

You laugh but he'd be a great choice. He can recruit and he could rebuild a program. At this point Syracuse needs both. I actively dislike Syracuse but it pains me to see them like this. As someone who grow up watching Don McPherson and Donovan McNabb kill Rutgers, I can't believe how lackluster Syracuse feels. I am shocked that Syracuse hasn't openned up the wallet and gotten a big time
, name brand head coach.

Syracuse still can't finish off drives. In the first half, fsu has 260 plus yards and SU has 224. Syracuse has been in the red zone 4 times and only came up with 6 points. The offensive play calling seems to be better under the new OC, but they still can't score. FSU is FSU though, and not expecting a win, but to not get completely blown out.

Syracuse just benefited from a questionable no call on a muffed punt... then threw an INT back to FSU on the next play.

No FSU just got the benefit of unsportsmanlike call when they were stopped at third down and four. Then Winston tries to head butt an SU player and doesn't get called for it.

Duke defense: 0 stops
GT offense: 2 turnovers, 2 drive killing penalties in the redzone

I thought the suicidal tendencies were gone after a bye then a near complete game against Miami. Apparently I'm wrong.

Looks like GT is still allergic to success. Finally ranked? Beat the two name teams in the division already? Going to be favored in every game until Clemson in November? Nah let's crap the bed against Duke and lose for the first time to them in Atlanta since 1994.

Also **** these refs. This is the worst officiated game I've seen in the ACC so far this year.

Sigh. Zero coverage all year of GT by ESPN, but you bet your *** we'll see extended coverage now on College Football Final and SportsCenter.

There goes most of the good will PJ earned back the last two weeks.

All we need now is Duke to lose to UVA next week and all is set! "You lost to Duke? How?"
