Where "around town" is anyone saying the Tigers lost momentum? Admittedly, I live in Nashville, but my perception is that everyone is jumping in the bandwagon. So, where does John Martin hang out that people think we have lost momentum?

Seems like a made up intro.

4-2 or better happened in 1947, 1949, 1951, 1953, 1959, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964, 1966, 1967, 1969, 1970, 1973, 1976, 1977, 1984, 1994, 2000, 2001, 2004. I stopped looking at WW2. The 2-0 in conference didn't happen, but in almost all of those years we weren't in a conference (from 1947-1967 and 1972-1996). 2-0 in conference did happen in 1969.

You expressed my exact thought.

I ask Tiger fans living in Memphis: do you share Martin's sentiment?

69 the only losses were OM and UT. 8-2 and 4-0 in Missouri Valley. So we have been there before.

He must not be hanging around midtown or out east. I live in midtown and work out east and all the Tiger fans I know are pumped. I also haven't heard a single one say they weren't going to the game due to the possibility of rain.

By the way, if you push 'future' on the weather map on weather.com, it appears that any rain we get could be through by 1:00. Anything after that would probably be just a short shower. Doesn't matter, we'll be there no matter what.

Ill be shocked if there are 40k today.

My tailgating group has 8 families, 6 are out of town on fall break. Fall break + rain = 03-nutkick

It does not mean that we cant draw 50k next home game

Personally, what has been lost isn't momentum but the shock that the Tigers are a good football team. For me, up until the Cincy game I still had the nagging doubt in the back of my mind that it was all a fluke, that hey, it's Memphis football, we'll probably blow it.

I've lost that feeling now and have adjusted to having a winning football team

Yep...fall break will have an impact on attendance. Also, the forecast all week for rain today has kept advance sales down. If the rain shows signs of clearing out we'll have a decent walk up.

RE: Preach John Martin
Correct...Williams years were nice, but the glory years were (unfortunately) much better and prior to that.

I completely disagree that Houston is mediocre. They are good, but have not always played that way. Am a little uncomfortable with this idea setting our kids up for a disappointment should this game not be a romp or even a loss.

Again, with that, Memphis 34-24. Great time had by all...big crowds from Memphis in Dallas in two weeks!
