FS1 could cater to the next 2 best conferences in the AAC and MWC. Even fostering scheduling agreements between them. There are HUGE markets at play, but they need to be tapped. San Diego, Las Vegas, Philly, Cincy, Memphis, Orlando, Fresno area, etc...
They would have to overpay, but could make a clearer gap for those 2 conferences. Honestly, 2 is probably overreaching, but they could force a west wing of the AAC by giving 12 mil per team and force the #6 power conference. They have to think outside the box

I was talking with some people here at LSU, and they saw me wearing a UCF hat and started talking about the BYU game and all of the close games on ESPN last season. SEC fans recognizing a team from another conference, let alone an AAC conference member, is fairly unprecedented lol.

Looks like ESPN was the best move possible. Several yeas back The MWC and CUSA took more $ on cbs sports and fox sports etc. rather than Espin exposure and less $. Look what happened to those leagues. No one watched the games and espn blacklisted the leagues with no sports center highlights, negative comments if anything was said all etc. AAC made the best move by taking a 6 year deal with more exposure. Maybe in 6 years FS1 or NBC sports network etc. will have big enough audience potential to warrant making a move for more money.

They said the same thing about Fox News. Either way, the competition is good, it's forced ESPN to improve its product and given more variety to the fan.

Wow you do realize that Fox News filled a void ....FS1 is coming in to a jam packed market. The two are not a like in any way other than they both have Fox in their name.

Really good point. All the other news outlets lean heavy to the left and Fox News is the lone station that leans right. Easy to see why they crush it in the ratings with no other stations on the right. If a new station wanted to get into the left leaning news, it would be a good example of FS1 getting into a crowded market.

This is completely subjective, what is more important is that at the time there was only CNN to compete with. It wasn't a fairly saturated market like sports television seems to be right now.

When I saw we had about 8 to 10 more national TV games in basketball than NC State and Wake Forest that's all I really needed to know about this TV deal. It kills.
