Carey on the Score 1:45
Taking like an idiot out of the box. They asked what is your secret to success. His idiot answer "I don't know" and he was serious!

Take it easy. It's not a big deal. The two guys interviewing him are brutal and Carey actually seems to be rolling with their idiotic barbs pretty well. Let's see..."don't ever go to the state of Arkansas again", "I'm not the smartest...that's my NIU education", "Has Illinois called you yet?", etc. They suck.

no real football questions except about recruiting. They could have at least acted like they knew something about NIU football. Could have asked the question about the rotating QB situation now that Lynch not there. Both are uninformed dopes.

Like I said, Beavis and Butthead. I wouldn't blame Carey if he didn't want to do any more interviews with people like that. What's the point?

Any publicity like this is good publicity and helps build the NIU brand in the Chicagoland area.

I am all for as many media outlets as possible discussing NIU football.

Sometimes I think that it is good that our coach does not take himself too seriously. Carey has a dry sense of humor which can be entertaining at times.

"Has Illinois called yet?" Couldn't tell if they were serious or not. Honestly I don't think Illinois can afford to go down the road of hiring two MAC coaches in a row. It's a nice paycheck temporarily but a dead end job. It is a basketball school.

That was in reference to the full page advertisement calling out the Illini right?...not asking if Illinois called Carey yet to be their Head Coach...right?

No, it was asking about their head coach. Berstein was all over DD to Illinois when they hired Beckman.

Not always. They tend to joke about everything and they think no one in Chicago cares about NIU. Makes us look bad sometimes. They were really impressed by Doeren a few years ago.

I don't know that they were impressed by DD but they thought he was very intense.

The best 2 shows on sports radio in Chicago are Waddle & Silvy on WMVP and Mully & Hanley on The Score, though my personal favorite is Laurence Holmes' show in the evenings on The Score.

Even Holmes, who is one of NIU's biggest supporters in the Chicago media? Not to mention Rozner, who is an alum?

All the shows on the Score are pretty good....except for B&B. Holmes' show is really good and and Mannelly and Spiegel are good as well. Mully and Hanley are kind of 03-zzz03-zzz03-zzz though.

Spiegel and Mannelly will eventually get blown up too, a year tops for that, its really boring. Mulley Hannelly is horrendous too. As much as I hate B and B and think they do not know anything about sports, I will admit its entertaining at times.

The Score is a sorry excuse for a sports station.....I listened to it back in 2005 when I was up there taking care of my mom.. We have the TICKET in Dallas, their sports analysis and on air personalities are quantum leaps ahead of the dudes on the Score.

Boers still has a man crush on DD. DD was the 1st time I heard positive remarks from Boers on NIU. They talked before the show and Boers was SOLD.
