Illinois below Wisconsin?

Didn't Northwestern just beat Wisconsin? Northwestern is 2-0 in conference play. Then we are 4-1 and beat Northwestern.

If this is based on this year's results, which it looks like, then Illinois should be higher than Wisconsin.

Nice to see us getting props here and there as the best team in Illinois.

If this goes by the mean of a particular state's teams then Wisconsin, with only the Badgers is better than the mean of NIU, NW and ILL.

I agree. Their slap was that the best team in Illinois is a MAC team, but as you pointed out, they didn't pay close enough attention to the "details". I could see if NIU was never a great MAC team or anything -- but it IS the team that went to a BCS bowl. So yes, without a doubt higher than Wisconsin overall. But they probably aren't convinced NIU & NW are better than Wisconsin (see Wisc blowing out BGSU, upper-end MAC) -- and since Wisconsin's the lone team, they purely represent the state overall. That's my guess of what they're thinking anyway.

No love for Ohio State or the MAC.

I can already hear all the Buckeyes fans complaining, but of course, that's because Buckeyes fans seldom shut up, and there are just so damn many of them. The problem is that Ohio is also home to Akron, Toledo, Cincinnati, Miami (OH), Ohio, Bowling Green and Kent State. You can't crack the top ten with so much MAC holding you down. -- Tom Fornelli

I guess the trick is to be like Wisconsin or Nebraska and put all of your eggs in one basket.

yeah throughout the entire article they seemed to specifically target the MAC. I guess bad publicity is good publicity
