FYI, with the right handler, Diesel can still run!

Maybe they want Mission to be allowed to get into the flow and not have to be looking over his shoulder in case he makes a mistake?

Have other schools been able to make a mascot rotation work?

The question is, "Who's the better runner and who's the better chaser?" We can all agree, I think, that Mission is the better runner, and Diesel is the better chaser. So, do you alternate based on the situation? Do you start one and then send in the other as relief? Do you just decide to stick with one? The pressure is just too much. Let's counsel with Coach Carey.

Well I don't think we've seen enough of Mission in his limited opportunities to know if he can chase.

It's obvious that Diesel is the better High fiver, I don't think that's even debatable.

its all about branding, this is the far likeliest reason.

...so bringing out the former Silveretts, Cheerleaders, HMB members and football players for homecoming is ok but bringing out our old mascot confuses our branding?

Of all the games to have ZERO issue with Diesel being back on the field Homecoming is that game.

If Diesel doesn't get in, please don't put a curse on the Huskies like William "Billy Goat" Sianis did to the Cubs. 04-jawdrop

Absolutely. Traveling to every godforsaken spot on NIU's schedule on his own dime, they need to do what's right here.

Apparently he's going to have high-five the cheerleaders from the parking lot if he's not getting field access.

Hoping someone more social media savvy can come up with a better hashtag though.

It's apparently worked, and NIU athletics just tweeted he has field access and will be by the alumni cheerleaders. He probably didn't get the access until they read all the people pissed off about it.

great news...Would love to see Diesel on the field tomorrow. Would make HC even better

NIU has not given the OK.

Well according to this tweet NIU Huskie Athletics is calling out your credibility unless they just OK'd the field pass now.

Not sure where you are getting your info but Diesel has field access for Homecoming. He will be by the alumni cheerleaders.

Well, CheerDad told me at 3:00 PM (EDT) this afternoon he did NOT have the OK. That good enough for you?
