there is another thread on it and per someone there, he's still on the team and it doesn't even say that he'll miss any time.

RE: Javonte Douglas suspended. Ouch
While I think we were all very excited about the addition of Mr. Douglas and are all very disappointed, I think the Men will be just fine without him. I think he would have been a great piece of the puzzle, but the picture remains pretty much the same without him. The Ladies, on the other hand, may be in some major trouble. They lost their leading scorer when Shea Kelly transferred, now they have lost their second leading scorer in Chelisa Painter, and a very important piece with GG Goodhope. Karen dismissed one of her new Freshmen just recently, as well. Just tragic all the way around.

No one has said he's missing any time.

They did say he is suspended indefinitely. My guess is that he misses 2-5 games, and it won't be too big of a hit to the team.

Too bad it wasn't just larceny of another student's iPhone. That would have minimized the disruption to just two games.
Oh wait ... different program?

Wasn't the athlete you are referring to charged with a crime? None of the three involved with this were.
There isn't much question that ODU has strict rules for their student athletes. For example, when it comes to drugs, either performance enhancing, or recreational, Monarch athletes face a "two strikes and you're out" policy. After the first offense they are suspended for 10% of a regular season's games (varies with sport,) with the second offense they are let go. IMO they do a pretty good job of enforcing their rules evenly across all sports.
