The campus hotel seems to be busy.

Any feedback from anybody that has stayed at the Madison Hotel?

I was talking with a Mizzou Volleyball Dad yesterday who said he was staying at the Hotel and he liked it. He had flown into the local airport and did not rent a car, so the hotel on campus allowed him to walk to the games and downtown etc. We met him at Billy Jack's. His disappointment was that the Missouri team did not stay at the hotel. They stayed at The Courtyard.

How does an outsider know we even have a hotel? That's a serious question. I'm sure a lot of people would love to have it as an option if they knew it exist. I would think it takes many years to build a reputation when you aren't a national chain.

I wonder if JMU is advertising the hotel via pop ups if a person googles JMU anything i.e. where is JMU? … Pop-Up stay at Madison Hotel

Believe their emphasis may be more in promoting the conference/convention aspect of things, than individual hotel stays. The conferences bring the hotel reservations along w/ them.
There was a huge need for conference booking space, as the Festival Conference center across campus couldn't keep up with the demand.

Any of the online outfits that offer travel bookings (like Orbitz, etc.) list the Hotel Madison. Come on people, this is the 21st century.

I would also assume that the other teams who are playing here are providing lodging info to their fans along with the ticket info.

Just took a look at the website. Initially I wasn't incredibly fond of the renderings, but the real thing looks much nicer IMO.

It is easy to join (takes 1 minute) and you will receive a code via email to use for future reservations- I don't know that you can use it for existing reservations. The link to the Loyalty Program is: https://www.hotelmadison.com/jmu-alumni-club

Very cool.

Gave my wife sh!t last night because I just switched auto insurance to GEICO and my JMU alumni discount was more than her Pitt alumni discount. Totally worth having to sleep on the couch for a couple nights.

I wonder if I can add a JMU discount to my current insurance. Is there a place to see what discounts are available for JMU grads? Is it only for Duke Club members, or any alumni?

I initially filled out a quote online and there was a screen that prompted to pick your school. I then called in and when I mentioned to the rep that it prompted me to select only my school (and not my wife's) she said only one can be applied and JMU gave a better discount than Pitt. Nothing about Duke Club came up.

Not sure about existing customers, always worth a try. Best to speak to a live person in these cases, they can perform overrides and adjustments the online forms can't.
