Does anyone know how high Dazon's recruiting ranking is?

He's the #4 kid in Alabama. Consensus 3 star. ESPN has him as a 79. 247 has him as a 88.

It's looks like he is consensus top 5 in the state and somewhere around 150-200 nationally. 3 star guy.

RE: Dazon Ingram
Isn't it still illegal for boosters to contact recruits? Last year, the twitter campaign involved a lot of people mentioning Lee in their tweets but did not contact him directly. This year it seems that more contact is made directly with the recruit via twitter, which I believe is a violation.

Yes, I know it is done everywhere, but everyone needs to make sure they don't violate any NCAA rules accidentally.

He looks and plays a lot like Terrence Rodderick. Tall, lanky, athletic two guard with good handles and ability to get to the rim. I'd love to have him.

We will let coach Haase know he has your approval. I'm sure he'll be glad to have it considering the fact that Ingram is really the only guy we are after.

Direct contact (other than incidental) in person or by any means, include all social media by boosters is indeed a violation.

As far as recruiting violations go, we aren't even a blip on the NCAA's radar. Bigger fish to fry. I say tweet em' up! Unless, we were turned in by a competing school. I'm not certain this has happened...like ever.

It's ok as long as you don't get caught, right?

You do realize the NCAA goes after the smaller fish (us) because they can't get the bigger fish.

It's easy to alter it so it isn't a violation

Tweet " it would be great to have (insert recruit) at UAB
Don't tweet: "hey, (recruits name) come play at UAB.

One is about a recruit - legal
One is direct contact - illegal.

Both have the same effect.

Good advice.

If we go down, though, we need to take Bama and Wichita State with us. They have people tweeting him as well.

I don't think there is any way to enforce the social media rule.

They could if they wanted to, but they don't want to because everyone would be in violation.

I DO think MB is right, though. We can make our point by saying, "I hope Dazon Ingram signs with UAB!!" #Dazon2UAB. This is cleaner than, "Hey, Dazon, you should sign with UAB!!!" #Dazon2UAB.

It's too easy to fake an account for the purpose of getting other schools in trouble. The NCAA isn't about to get involved in trying to figure out all of that.

@CoachNeal: 2016 Avi Toomer (Grady) is headed to visit UAB today
The talented GA guard is a hot name for MM+ & HM- coaches to see right now.

Just because a rule is unenforceable does not change the fact that it is a rule. Don't give the NCAA a reason to prove it is enforceable.
