Coach Ayeni
Lou Ayeni, former UT RB Coach is now with ISU. It's a similar situation UT had with Scott Satterfield going to FIU and stealing play signals in the Little Caesar's Bowl. Of course the staff at the time was too lazy to change them from the previous season even when Tressel told Beckman the Buckeye stole them in the 38-0 loss in Cleveland.
ISU's QB Richardson in his Rocket Preview talked about Ayeni's extensive knowledge of the Rocket personnel, how he would be involved in the game planning. He mentioned particularly going after the Rocket secondary.
Personally I have no love for Ayeni after he dragged a RB recruit to ISU that was down to Toledo and Tulsa. He basically said Hunt was too good for Toledo and he should be a playing for a team like the Buckeyes. I can remember being po'd by the comments, especially when he was receiving a UT paycheck at the time. I think our current RB Coach Johnson is doing a great job, better than the former. It would be great for the Rockets to bring a win back from Ames. I hope the Rocket staff takes advantage of
what Ayeni would think the Cyclones could use to gain an advantage(tendencies)

Coach Ayeni
I completely disagree with your assessment of Ayeni, his accomplishments and your interpretation of his comments. Of course in his new capacity he'll play a big part in ISU's game planning, but that's the way it always goes at any level of football and we'd expect no less if the situation was reversed. He was a good coach for Toledo IMO and Johnson has done a fine job in the same capacity, carrying on a strong tradition of great RBs at Toledo.

Coach Ayeni
We could use Ayeni's knowledge of the play book against them. Run different plays from familiar formations as a way to misdirect. That would take a level of savvy that this coaching staff has rarely displayed with any consistency. Hopefully I'm wrong on this point.

It's not like going after the secondary is a secret.

These rbs are his recruits. I liked lou a lot. Good guy. Smart guy. Great recruiter. Hopefully our run game he brought to toledo can show up the cyclones.

Usually a couple of coaches are involved in player recruitment. Which was the case of the current RB's. Swanson was Candle's recruit.

Swanson reminds me a lot of Wasean Tait - any others feel the same way? Same size, shifty and quick, but no breakaway speed, likes to reverse field and go against the grain.. Will consistently gain yardage.

Tait was a special player before the injury. I agree swanson doesn't have breakaway speed. A few times I think he is gone and ready to put it in another gear, but he is still stuck in 3rd gear. Not as shifty as tait. Can't wait until both Hunt and Swanson are healthy. Why pass? Ha!

Swanson hits the hole quickly and has tremendous balance. After his first winter conditioning he'll be a beast.

Multitaxing!

I had forgotten that he went to ISU, so good concern raised. Hopefully it is working out for them as well as hiring NIU's DC worked out for us. People seem to think a lot of him. The only knock I have is that comment that Hunt "..should be at Ohio State." That kind of vision doesn't do us any good IMO.

RE: Coach Ayeni
I am still very very surprised that Ayeni left UT. He was the assistant head coach and was in-line to be UT's next head coach. He told me directly that he has HC aspirations. That same path will be very difficult to recereate at a volatile ISU football program.

His decision must have been a pure short term financial decision. I guess he figured he would get at least a 3 to 5 year life span at ISU when he came in with the new HC.

Go rockets!!

My head would explode if I tried to do all of that. I wasn't intending to be mean, I just wanted to know what was being said.

This definitely puts UT at a disadvantage unless staff has prepared for this.
