I hope its only for this game. I really like the UTEP logo with the pickax for the T. Don't really care for cartoons on helmets but that's just me.

I like it. Reminds me of the days when were really good at basketball!!

So.....UTEP's helmets had "white" face mask bars back in the day?

I really like the "throwback" idea. I'm just not sure you guys got it right with this helmet. This helmet looks GREAT. It doesn't look like a throwback.

I like it! Reminds me of alot of the "cartoon-like mascots" a lot of teams had when I was growing up. Out of curiosity, what era was this from?

The helmet is from the late 80s to the early 90s. It was the helmet for probably our best team that went 10-3 and made the Independence Bowl (Southern Miss fans, you may reminisce about your QB here). It was the helmet that Coach Kugler wore during his time as a player.

As for the logo, I want say we had it from the late 70s/early 80s to the late 90s. It's more familiar, at least for me, with a basketball in his hands since basketball was kicking heinie back in those days.

I love the helmet. It reminds me of my childhood days. Probably my second favorite helmet after the prospector helmet of the 60s.

For one game it looks cool.
