So about all of these Point Guards
Anyone have any idea what the depth chart will look like? I'm sure we will play a few 2-PG and 3-guard lineups on occassion, but I wonder what will the typical rotation look like. I don't even know who the starter wil be. Maybe Baxter will play off-ball most of the time? He was much more a scorer than a distributor for UMES. Is Watts healthy enough to start? Could Watts or Baxter be used to anchor a second team of four other freshmen? Very curious to see how the depth chart shakes out.

Denzel Watts (SO)
Denzell Collins (SR)
Nick Norton (FR)
Hakeem Baxter (SO)
Lionel Love (FR)

I think that Baxter will be more of a scorer. I dont see much pt for our freshmen guards as good as they are. I think the lineup we see will be based on how we use HaHa and Lew.

RE: So about all of these Point Guards
It would be weird if Norton didn't play much after such a good showing in Spain, but it might make the most sense for the team. I bet HaHa will be good enough to be a starter, but there's really nowhere good to put him. He should still get plenty of playing time since I doubt Mehinti will play a ton of minutes.

RE: So about all of these Point Guards
at this point it's tough to pick the starting 5, let alone the starter at point. I think mehinti, CJ and brown are the known starters. After that, I have no clue at this point.

If I had to guess...Watts, Norton, and then Collins in that order.

SG Brown/Baxter/Calhoun
SF Madison/Sullivan
PF Washington/Cokley
C Mehinti/Lee

I think you must be close to perfect in this.

With a young team it's hard to tell but that's what I'd go with for the first game.

I would be shocked if lee is suiting up at the 5. I wouldn't mind it, I just don't get the feeling that's where we intend on playing him.

My guess at a starting five for game one

PG no clue
SG - Brown
F - Washington
F - Lee
C - Mehinti

Madison first off the bench

I agree about Madison. I think he can fill the void left by Robert Williams. He really played well at the end of the last season and seems to give the team a spark.

This is pretty close to what I'm thinking. we are going to have some good players on the bench this year. I really hope Madison can become our second or third leading scorer as a sixth man.

That's what I would say as well, with Watts starting PG.

If Watts is healthy opening game, then he definitely starts. I say no clue, because I heard he wouldn't be available immediately.

That's what I think, too. But that lineup, with or without Madison, would have a hard time against LaTech's 3-guard lineup. Well, any lineup would, actually. But maybe a negative in one area could be a benefit on the other. With our versatility it's gonna be fun...
