13. Tulane 1-4 (13)
Best Win: 35-20 vs. SE Louisiana | Worst Loss: 38-21 at Tulsa 2OT
Average Score: 21.2-34.8 | This Week: vs. UConn
It's somewhat of a rarity for a team in this rankings to stick in the same spot when it doesn't play a game, but that's what the Green Wave does. I just hope it was a productive week off because UConn lurks this weekend.
11. Tulsa 1-3 (14)
Best Win: 38-31 2OT vs. Tulane | Worst Loss: 37-34 3OT vs. Texas State
Average Score: 16.6-35.0 | This Week: at Temple
I was actually worried that Tulsa would screw up and beat Colorado State this weekend, but nope. The Hurricane got rocked 42-17, and they're starting to look like a real contender here.
6. UConn 1-4 (7)
Best Win: 19-16 vs. Stony Brook | Worst Loss: 36-10 vs. Temple
Average Score: 14.8-28.4 | This Week: at Tulane
UConn took last week off, and now it returns to action with a big game against No. 13 Tulane. UConn has one of the tougher schedules remaining of any team outside the MAC, as it has this week's game with the Green Wave and dates with both Army and SMU in the future.
1. SMU 0-5 (1)
Best Win: None | Worst Loss: 43-6 at North Texas
Average Score: 7.2-49.4 | This Week: No game
SMU could use this coming weekend off, because it was showing some chinks in the armor over the weekend. Holding East Carolina to only 45 points? Scoring 24 points of its own after scoring 12 in the first four games? Listen, even the greatest teams slip up now and then, so we shouldn't panic. Hopefully this bye week will help get everything back in tip-top losing condition.
