Calling Tiger Nation
In several of his latest interviews, Coach Fuente has a call out to “Tiger Nation” to fill the liberty bowl. He has done his part, now it is time for “Tiger Nation” to step up. In one of his interviews he explained how excited the players are that there might be a big crowd on Saturday. This might go a long way in the Coaches mind at the end of the season when offers from other schools start rolling in. And, Big Brother Big 12 may be watching…

I know the weather is going to be a factor, but how bad do we want this. So, I am personally buying my Nephew and his family of four tickets. Wish I could do more.

I guess I am telling my age here, but I can remember when over 50k was the norm..

Hope for a large crowd.

50K has never been the norm. What is going on with attendance this year is remarkable....and a testament to the fact that we finally have an administration and athletic dept that is committed to big-time winning football.

Maybe "norm" was a little strong, but in the early 70's and mid 70's, saw a lot of games in what seemed like a pretty full house. Ole Miss would sell out and Mississippi State when they came to town. Tennessee was big and I believe one year in there we played South Carolina. Southern Miss had a good team back then and was always a crowd for that. Which reminds me, is Fred Pancoast the only coach who has left the Tigers and not been let go in the last 45 years?

Do you actually think that I am the only one who realizes the critical importance of attendance? Our football program is on the verge of breaking thru - a record crowd Saturday night will be a major blow "while the iron is hot". Those who still don't have a poncho or rainsuit: please buy one and make sure weather does not keep you from stepping up.

Yes we did. We also played (and beat) Ole Miss, Miss State and Auburn. Should have beaten UT-K, but lost to a couple of critical turnovers on our end of the field. Finished 7-4 in spite of leading the nation in fumbles (due to the nature of the veer offense).

How can you remember one specific game that happened 38 years ago? I can't even remember games from 2004. Amazing...
