I usually have nothing good to say about that state! However, I was thinking about it and I can't really think of too many flops we've had there in recruiting (note: my era is 2000 and newer):

Great players:

Harnish
Napalm
Spann
Onyebeagu

Good players:

Perez
Mcintosh (verdict out but I wouldn't call a talented backup at worst a bad player)
Lee (could move to great category in time)
Mosley (verdict still out but seems to be making contributions to a stacked D as a true frosh)

Am I missing some glaring ones?

I feel like you could probably do the same thing with Wisky and Mizzou guys as well. Illinois has produced a lot of great players for us but I think a lot of our misses have also been home state guys as well.

Southern guys are a different animal.

I'm not sure which perez you're referring to but perez ashford was from Ohio and perez ford is from Illinois.

NIU has done a good job from that state though. I think lee will be really solid as I've really liked him and Mario jones stuffing the middle. Great d tackle combo.

He means Marcus Perez, another WR who played for NIU from '04-'08.

He and Napalm went to the same high school.

Well I followed from 03-05 so so i mean I was 12-14 then and we went to 1-2 games a year then I didn't go to another game until 08 so I fell off in that 05-08 span when we didn't go since my brothers werent there anymore.

But ya, you're old as hell.

Candiana sounds pretty awesome.
