Houston is different this year. They have a pretty good defense but not a very good offense. UTSA beat them 27-7 and that was UTSA's only win this year. They also beat a 1-win UNLV team and a bad Grambling team.

They seem to be hanging their hats on playing UCF close, but maybe UCF isn't as good as we think. Who knows?

Yeah, and we weren't that good. Got clocked by Temple and UConn.

Don't overlook any team.. but, ideally, on paper, Memphis should beat Houston.

The team mailed it in for the last two games after the 7th loss and bowl hopes went up in smoke.

I agree. But we still got clocked, right? We apparently weren't good enough to mail it in against two bad teams.

Can't overlook Houston by any means. They have a lot of good football players, just haven't been able to put it all together this season. Gotta show up every game. Do that, and it will be a special year.

The team won't be mailing it in Saturday--at least from the sound of all theirs and JF's quotes.

Some of them have waited a long time to get the support of the city. I don't think they are taking it lightly.

We get the better running QB. They benched the other guy.

The team and staff can't overlook them, but I can. We win. I don't think it will be close. Double digits.

BTW, we will be favored in every game now, except maybe Temple, assuming we keep winning, so we have an opportunity to overlook somebody every week. 03-lmfao

Houston has a defense and QB the Tigers have never seen before. It will be hard to break 30 on that defense. They will tell you they are top 25 defensively

"Last year we were just so close in so many games. Finishing strong. That's what we lacked last year. This year is a huge difference. A lot more pieces to the puzzle. A lot more players that can make something happen. Some people might put us as an underdog in a lot of these games, and we're going to prove a lot of people wrong. This year I wanna see us finish. We're going to shock the nation." Brandon Hayes

Memphis hosts Houston on October 11, 2014 at 6 pm at the Liberty Bowl. Tickets on sale at http://gotigersgo.com/tickets.

I don't think Ward is going to be a big problem. Their offense is not good. Houston has a good D, but we've seen better. We'll be fine.

My take at the time was that they had left everything they had on the field in the Lville game. We were beat up, worn out and playing a lot of young guys who had yet to compete an entire year in college football.

They may have mailed it in, still wonder what might have happened if we got a break in the Lville game.

My theory is the UL game knocked us out of a bowl chance, and our guys just lost enthusiasm, especially the upper classmen.

RE: Memphis vs Houston
Houston is down two receivers that were starting. Ward(new QB) and Spencer( out for season with torn ACL). Look for Greensberry to be a major factor for their offense.
