Projected population for Texas by mid century or before is 54 million almost double what it is now.

The TV contract allows expansion without reducing shares + adding a conference championship game is worth $25 million + the new additions will initially only ask for partial revenue shares (same as TCU and WVU did).
When OU's president mentioned that the contract allows for new teams and prorated shares, he also said that no new money for a CCG would be received. So estimated funds for that cannot be counted for whatever reason.
Do you have a link? I've specifically looked in articles for that information and they have never said they would not get new money. In a few they implied they would, but never came right out and said it.
It was in the very same article where he mentioned the pro rata increase, or at least the statement was made in the same setting as when he mentioned the other part. That is why you can't use one without the other. It has always been amazing to me that that his mention of the CCG has been overlooked all this time.
I don't believe that is correct. He said the playoff money would not increase, but didn't specifically address a conference championship game.

If you look at Trotter's twitter from Boren's remarks, Boren says it goes up pro rata, whether they have 10, 11 or 12. Obviously, you couldn't get a ccg at 11.

Texas to independent, Oklahoma to either the PAC, SEC or B1G. That sounds right to me.
I just hope OU goes to the SEC!

No offense to UCF on this rumor but if the B12 does get Miami why would you add a 2nd school in Florida? You guys essentially bring the same identical TV eyeballs. Makes more sense to go to a new state/ market for conference expansion. Just saying. That said Boise St, BYU, Memphis, Cincy, or ECU would fit.

That is not what I am referring to. There are too many articles/posts on the subject for me to search for it now, but Boren was asked about the CCG, and he specifically said there was no additional money for it, above the pro-rata increase. He didn't go further that I recall, but it sounded like the CCG was part of the built in pro rata increase for expansion.

How does Miami get around the GOR again? and if it's possible, why not just go for FSU as well?
Furthermore, why would those schools head to the Big XII? Miami would change conferences so that they can get out of paying coaches to leave?
Why would anyone want to get in a conference that is so muddled with mixed interests? Was anyone watching a few years ago when you have several schools leave? If you're already P5, the Big XII is the worst landing spot

I posted this over a year ago. Keep up! The Big12 is NOT getting Miami or FSU...Period...exclamation point. I dont think the Big12 is doing anything, anytime soon, and I dont think UCF is even in the conversation right now. So all these other school's fans can beat their heads against the wall, and gnash their teeth, trying to convince other forum readers that they are going somewhere, but I think we all know the truth.. I'll just enjoy the soap opera..?

Don't we have a resident Rutgers fan here by the name of "Transic_nyc"?

Yes, and he is a rational, good poster, who was asking a leading question to a twitter hack. Kudos to Transic!

And if that day comes, I will assume that UT and OU are gone to another conference and hope that KU is as well.

Who is this Patterson guy Flugaur mentions?

Count me amongst those that like the idea of Houston and Cincinnati in the ACC.

Well, couldn't the ACC just counter-offer West Virginia and add South Florida? or maybe Houston?
Maybe I'm missing how the Big XII is in any position of power here...
I don't know if the b-12 has any leverage, however, texas+oklahoma>FSU+Miami. And I actually like FSU.
That doesn't mean anything....the ACC is more stable over all
Texas is the 800lb gorilla in the Big XII...and if one of Oklahoma or Texas leaves, what kind of conference do you have then? Miami is going to jump and then Texas and Oklahoma will leave....they'll be stuck in Texas-based conference that will end up being worse than the ACC.

I don't see how anyone can claim that the XII is more stable than the ACC.
It really only takes Texas or Oklahoma leaving the conference, even just in football, to completely destabilize the XII.
That wouldn't happen if FSU left the ACC.
