Well, for example I think UCF is in the largest TV market that is not in a P5 conference and should bring a lot of viewers which means more advertising revenue. It's the second largest university in the nation and it's alumni are growing rapidly all around the country. UCF would instantly add 15,000 or more seats to it's stadium taking it to at least 60,000. The added revenue might easier make up for sharing it between two more teams.

Tampa Bay has a bigger TV market than Orlando.

Tampa also had a larger TV market than Morgantown, WV; Louisville, KY; Syracuse, NY; Pittsburgh, PA, Blacksburg, VA etc...but schools in those cities from the Big East were all invited to join better/bigger/higher $$$ conferences.

Tampa is in the central part of the state. UCF will carry both Orlando and Tampa.

I'm an alumni and that may be a bit of stretch.

That is short-term thinking. They would be smart to add teams now and build them up to legitimate P5 contenders to solidify their perception of the league for the long-term. If they wait to get poached to make a move, the P5 moniker will become the P4 and they'll be on the outside looking in.

1) the aac teams would accept a lesser tv payout for a predetermined period. We are only getting $2 million today.

2) tv networks would have to bless the deal and at least keep the existing members at the same pay.

3) if the big 12 wants a tv network, they will need more inventory over only 10 teams.

They would also need a larger footprint. Adding Ohio, Florida and North Carolina would be a good start.
