Techs D is scary good when the O doesn't screw it up with turnovers. Tech has a ton of talent at skill positions and the OL is getting better but Techs O is no where near Marshalls O as of right now.

Would Tech beat Marshall, only one way to find out is for them both to win out. I would guess in WV Tech would be around a 10 point underdog.

How do you know? I'm just trying to understand why guys like you (and the UTEP faithful) are so high on Marshall? This is not a criticism of Marshall. They've done exactly what they need to do: Win.

But, what has Marshall done that is really so impressive? Sure, they are undefeated, but Marshall's 2014 strength of Schedule is laughable. It's ranked #125 out of 128 FBS schools.

http://www.fbschedules.com/2014/08/phil-...-rankings/

Do you really think Marshall would have beaten Auburn, or OU, this season? Of course not. If Marshall had scheduled Auburn and OU --or some of the other P5 schools that several CUSA teams have lost to this year-- Marshall would have a couple of losses just like everybody else.

Marshall may indeed wax the floor with everyone in CUSA in 2014. But clearly, the Herd hasn't been tested yet due to a very weak schedule. It's for this reason that I think its very premature to crown them as CUSA champs just yet.

Ill give you a few reasons of why you should be impressed, outscorimg opponents something to the tune of 150-13 in the first half, for one. Being in the top 25 in 80 statistical categories for another (regardless if you like it or not, stats do tell a story). And just comparing common opponents, Pitt and Penn State (both at home, managed to score 37 points i believe it was on akron. We scored 48 in 3 qtrs. We have put more pts on akron (who has the #17 defense even after facing us), than ther other 4 opponents combined..... in 3 qtrs. You lost to an fcs team and are chest beating because you beat utep, like we have beaten every opponent basically.

For the record, i predicted a La Tech vs Marshall title game in Huntington on Dec 6th.... and i hope that works out.

Excellent post! Made me laugh. And yes I'm sorry about my assumption. I am aware of the other UMs. I have friends that went to UMichigan but they don't count in my football world. 07-coffee3 This is a good reminder to me that the world does not revolve around me! By tomorrow I will forget this lesson.

I'm sure you meant that in the most helpful way.

Got it. Any context clues with Marshall? Anything we should avoid, like say WVU is awesome kind of thing?
