RE: Saturday Forecast
I survived the monsoon while watching Dave on the jumbotron and the rain didn't spoil my time at the Austin Peay game this year.

See y'all at the game - rain or shine!

It's my 40th birthday that day, & my son is staying at my mom's house that night. The rain had better stay away!

We played pretty well against MT in the rain, thinking we'll do the same against Houston. Hope to see a big crowd. Go Tigers!

I will be there regardless, but this would hurt the crowd significantly.

My app says 50% chance of rain in the area. My take on it is thre is a 50% of no rain anywhere and even better odds that it doesn't rain at all during the game. But even more important.......

It's Water! 07-coffee3

Weather lesson 101. I used to work for a radio station as a dj here in Madisonville,KY ...and I learned that a 50% chance of rain doesn't mean that there is a 50-50 chance of it not raining. It means that 50% of the area will get some rain.

My wife is a meteorologist and what you said is true. However, 50% of the area getting rained on and 50% of the area not getting rained on.....plus not knowing exactly where those areas will be STILL means there is a 50% chance it is or isn't going to rain where you care about. Just ask a farmer.

We will be playing such good football that you won't notice a little precip.

Well, it will be the beer consumption that will make the rain less noticeable for me.

There's one or more of you on every isle... missing half the game fetching beer or going to piss. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

The key is seat location. I sit on the visitors side in close proximity to the beer cart/men's restroom. Good timing is important as well.

Old age and poor health excepted, those who miss football games because of rain forecasts, just THINK they are football fans. A good poncho or rainsuit (preferably blue or gray) will keep you dry enough.

It doesn't matter what they wear as long as they are in the stadium instead of staying at home watching games on TV (per your earlier comment).

A&M vs Ole Miss in a dry living room or bar is tempting

If you are not in the stands, the team can't hear you yelling. That's the main reason to be there in person. Fans in the stands help teams win games. I am a firm believer in that. I have a sack full of ponchos that I will pass out at our tailgate to those who show up.

Most are blue, but unfortunately, GA, some are other colors. If it gets another fan to attend the game, though, I don't care.

I agree. I used to enjoy a nice rain game now and then. Kept my rain gear in the SUV all the time. I remember flying back from San Diego into Little Rock to meet my wife for that 6-0 rain game against Arkansas. I told her on the phone before I got on the plane to be sure "the bag" was in the SUV before she left the house.

Hey, it's Memphis, it rains a lot. It's football not the Orpheum. The Tigers are playing rain or shine and deserve all the support they can get.
