Saw this over on the realignment board. Does anyone know if this guy has any credibility? Im not familiar with him.

What this league has to worry about right now is ECU, UC, UCF and USF going to the Big 12 to help create an East Division and get a conference championship game. Details are still very sketchy, but it appears the doors have finally opened to the Big 12 finding regional teams for WVU to assist with travel and also establish a long sought after Florida footprint for the league. Multiple sources have suggested that Mike Aresco is already trying to renegotiate the American's current TV deal for the league in an effort to keep these teams in the conference with more money and a possible Grant of Rights. But Aresco's response is reportedly forcing the hand of the Big 12 even faster.

That is expected to unfold within the next four weeks and isn't something American fans should worry about at the moment. Fans should be more concerned with when their favorite team plays Memphis or ECU, because those programs are on fire right now. Surprisingly, the Tigers and Pirates don't play each other this season, so don't expect the question of who is best to be answered on the gridiron.

We will catch up with the league every morning here on the AAC blog and keep a close eye on realignment as well.

LMAO tulsa is the only team that would sign that, this rumor is almost certainly false

aresco openly acknowledges teams want to leave...if their is any chance of this even being remotely true, they'll include a P5 invite escape clause and this has more to do with the tv deal and the network having more controll (more value) than "keeping the AAC together"

The ACC is already saturated with NC schools. Only if UNC goes SEC or B1G would that discussion even get momentum. I think if the Big12 decides to finally expand, that adding 4 teams is a real possibility as they would want to penetrate whatever markets make sense. Guessing UCF/USF, Cincy, and ECU, to create an eastern division.

But none of this happens till Texas and OU decide its necessary. If they're not on board and decide to leave, it would get real interesting.

Back on topic, obviously won't ever happen. Be interesting though, if Aresco tries it and the B12 did actually believe it just enough to move forward with their additions. If we don't buy it though, I doubt the B12 will. They know damn well any team they are interested in isn't going anywhere anytime soon...

Irony is that an AAC GOR would really help solidify our conference, and get us MUCH more TV dollars. Instability as a 'tweener' conference will continue to kill us...
