Actually, charging Wilson immediately is probably the best thing that could happen to him. They don't have the case put together. Start the clock running, and they probably won't have the case running by trial date. And he'll walk.

A dead body does not make a murder, not even with eyewitnesses. Until you have all the pieces you need to get a murder conviction, you don't want to start the speedy trial clock running if you are a DA. If only the rabble rousers understood that they are doing the cause of justice more harm than good.
