It took TCU 12 years and a lot of other things happening for TCU to become a power and finally be invited to the Big XII. Only after Mizzou and A&M bolted.
Agree. It hasn't happened for Boise and they've played in multiple BCS bowls. TCU barely got it and it took a windfall and their program being in the right spot at the right time for that to happen. UCF is still waiting, so is Cincy who is only two years removed from a BCS game. Not as easy as just winning football games.
While football drives the bus, a quality football team is not what drives an invite from the current p5 conferences. The only conference that was true of was the old big east. Rutgers and Maryland shows what really is important. If Memphis can show it can dominate the tv demographics for the mid south like it does basketball, that will get Memphis some serious consideration. Not an invite, because unless something happens in the b12, I just don't think they are expanding unless forced to. But when the time comes, you got to be ready. At least Memphis has what most of the b12 would like; a decent sized stadium which is easy travel distance to many of their teams, a good sized market they don't currently have, a nice geographic midway route to wvu and to a Florida school, which they would also like to add.

Serious question, why does that bother you? I promise I'm not trying to be an a-hole but I'm honestly curious why people are upset or pissed about the prospect of going 10-2 and the discussing of that possibility?

It's not a big deal. I just noticed there were several identical threads talking about going 10-2. It wasn't the subject matter, just the duplication that caught my eye. Of course 10-2 is the goal at this point and seems attainable. I thought we'd win 8 games coming into the year so I'm personally happy the team has a good shot to outperform my expectations.

Well, in all fairness, Boise has the unenviable distinction of being in Boise, Idaho.
