Game was thrilling...DJ on the other hand...
First off, couldn't believe how well Terrell played all night. Awesome performance. Came down to the kicking game and we came up short. Now, the DJ situation. I actually like the concept. But, can't the Administration control what this guy plays? At least half the stuff he plays is pure filth and I'm extremely open minded. Some of the stuff is unbelievably dirty ("undress me, I'll undress you"' "g-string" references, "click, click" gun sounds). C'mon! That's just garbage. He literally drove people in my section to leave! I now cringe at time outs! Time to reevaluate and get some control. They're turning what could be a plus into an embarrassment! My kids are grown up but I wouldn't blame people for leaving kids at home if they are subjected to this. I challenge Dunn or KB to have this clown show them the lyrics for what he's playing. He'd be fired on the spot! Wake up!!!

I think a DJ can be a plus for the game day experience. I would also like cleaner lyrics. The game atmosphere should be something an entire family can enjoy.

At least this year they have solved the problem of the band and DJ playing over each other. But I agree about the music choices.

Personally, I prefer just the band playing.

Uniforms, helmets, DJ, I'm starting to careless. It's all ancillary to the play on the field.

True but until the play on the field gets consistently better they have to entertain the fans somehow and give them a reason to come to the game. After reading the comments it looks like there is a lot of room for improvement in the entertainment factor also........ The WMU I attended would be all over anything that was profane and less than family orientated. This has to be a concern especially if you are trying to give the local residents a reason to come to the game. I've gotten the sense that there is a lot of confusion about the "brand" they want to portray to the public and student body.

RE: Game was thrilling...DJ on the other hand...
I thought the music was alright, but then again I'm 29 and this type of music doesn't offend me like it might others. Our players seemed to really be feeding off of it during the game, especially during kick-offs and lulls in the game. The whole sideline was really giddy and I found it exciting to see our guys so relaxed and enjoying the game. Haven't seen that in a while from our sidelines. And I've been up and close many times over the course of the last several seasons.

This is probably going to come across as a strange comment, but I feel like I'm allowed to say it because I was once in the BMB. I wish the drum major's/band were a little more in-tune to what's going on at certain critical times in the game. Sometimes they get a little lost in their own little world over there.

There were a couple of UT drives towards the end of the game where it was almost like the band was feeding off Toledo's energy and playing more upbeat, quicker-tempo songs. Then when it came to a critical third down play late in the third quarter, they did the "This is my apple" chant. Really guys?

It's obviously unintentional and this is all extremely minor in the greater scheme of things, but it's just something I noticed last night. I am probably one of the few people who notices these types of things, but I'm curious if other former BMB/Bronco football fans notice this.

University would not allow somebody to bring a sign with profanities on it into Waldo.

How can they justify lyrics such as cited by 83?

Not exactly "school-appropriate."

Ditch the DJ. BMB is plenty fine.

I am in favor of keeping both. With some minor tweaks and adjustments here and there, I think they can be complimentary to one another and creates a unique game-day environment. Believe it or not, it's a major component to recruiting also, especially when MAC programs in particular are constantly battling to make themselves stand out.

I see my stalker ("Rose" aka BURN Boy) is back.

"Ignore" is a wonderful feature.

Stalker? What, we aren't allowed to have a debate/discussion?

Weird.

Yes, you are the victim, being bated. Please. 03-melodramatic

Maybe Major was right, the ignore button is a great feature. It's probably best for all on this board anyways so the rest of us can carry on with actually talking about WMU sports and none of this other silly agenda-driven BS.

Lipstick on a pig?

Yeah. Except the pig is looking a little better this year.

Sounds like it.

If we can continue to improve and stay healthy there appear to be several winnable games left on schedule.

Don't know if DB will get his nine, however.

I agree on the lyrics. Ridiculous!

Does anyone know the names of the two or three "songs" in question?

KB said she was putting this DJ on a short leash due to complaints about the lyrics last year. 2 games in and it doesn't look like much has changed. I like having a DJ. I don't like this DJ. After meeting him a few weeks ago, I'm even less impressed. Maybe I'm getting old, but he came off like an unappreciative little punk.

Let's hope KB follows through and drops this guy and finds someone else.

"Jailhouse Rock" has clearly had a bad influence...ditch it.
