Couple Nonconference matchups this week. I don't give ULM much shot at Kentucky, but App really needs to suck it up and beat Liberty. Technically ULL's trip to Texas State is week 8, but its really more like Week 7, so I am including it in this slate of games.

Tuesday October 14th

UL Lafayette at Texas State 7:00pm CT ESPN2

2 teams I would hate to be this week. App and ULM. Kentucky just beat SC and App is going to lose to Liberty.

UL Monroe at Kentucky - I think the Warhawks catch the Wildcats riding high from beating an over rated South Carolina

Arkansas State at Georgia State - Red Wolves win but Panthers continue to put a scare in teams. If GSU would find a defense it might be different.

New Mexico State at Troy - The Aggies showed good life against the Eagles and UNM. I think they are due for a win and Troy is reeling. Trojans looked better against ULM before the bye but I think NMSU pulls it out.

Liberty at Appalachian State - App St is feeling the transition pais we all but GS know too well. That said they will beat Liberty.

Idaho at Georgia Southern - Eagles looking good so far. Idaho has a good QB and will score points. I think this will be closer than many will think but in the end the Eagles win.

Tuesday October 14th

UL Lafayette at Texas State - Bocbats take early lead give it up and hold on for another close win. ULL has looked average so far this year but should be able to exploit the Bobcats defense. I think Jones bounces back from his bad game against Idaho and the Cats get the win.

ULM-Kentucky. Kentucky seems to have it rolling in the right direction. I think they beat ULM fairly convincingly. 35-20 Kentucky wins.

Ark. St-Ga. State. I want to predict Ga. State beats a conference team but I can't this week. I do think Ga. State will score some points but not enough. Ark. St. wins 38-31.

NMSU-Troy. The fans are not happy in Troy right now and I think someway they get a win over NMSU. I will say Troy 34 NMSU 28.

Liberty--App. St. The fans are not very happy in Boone right now either. While it may not be pretty App. St. will not lose this game. App. 31 Liberty 24.

Idaho-Ga. Southern. Any team who can effectively throw the ball worries me but it is homecoming and I expect Ga. Southern to come out much better from the start this week than vs. NMSU. I think lots of points will be scored but Ga. Southern scores the most. GS 45 Idaho 31.

Louisiana-Texas St. Louisiana has not been impressive this year so far and I think it is time for a big Texas St. win. I am going with Texas St. 28 Louisiana 24.
