Oldtiger and gotigers1 I appreciate your trying to suggest that such enthusiasm on my part or any tiger fans part is a little premature. To be honest the comments made were in jest and half hearted.

Lets be clear however, as life long Tiger fans we certainly remember a time where we competed against the likes of a Florida st. and Georgia Tech. Where we routinely beat schools like S. Carolina and Louisville.

We also have the recent history of being chided as the worst football program in college football...

Lets not be so quick to jump on fellow Tiger fans.

I understand celebrating a bit, but you're right; that post is way over the top. We're 1 game over .500, seriously.....1 game.

Houston has a pretty good defense and it looks like they'll be able to move the ball with Ward at QB. If their receivers can figure out how to catch a football again they should be able to score.

We'll see.

Cincy scored as many points with Munchie for a half, as they did with Kiel for a half, so not sure his injury made any difference.

You can't honestly believe that can you? The reason the two halfs were the same scoring wise was because UC literally rolled over and died in the 2nd half.

With Kiel, UC is an 8 win team probably. With Munchie, I seriously worry about our team making a bowl.

Kiel was crushed like a bug by Tank Jakes....I say can you hear that crunch???? Legal hit too....sorry he got hurt but it didn't make much difference.

Yes you are a moron. Actually you may have some mental problems.

In case you didn't know this little fact Memphis is tied for 43rd in total defense with UAB. ECU is right behind them at 45th. VT, whom ECU has already beaten is 27th in total defense. VT had lots of trouble containing ECU's offense and the Memphis defense is not as good as VT's.

I think you under analyzing total defense. I'm pretty sure Memphis has more sacks, tackles for losses, and forced turnovers than UAB and ECU. If a team had ECU offense and Memphis defense, they would be undefeated.

You're right. If you had ECU's offense and Memphis' defense you would be undefeated...wait, if you had that, you'd be Marshall. Well, except our offense is ranked ahead of ECU, actually #1 in the country, and our defense is ranked ahead of Memphis.

But it doesn't count because we haven't played anybody.

Are Cincy fans making excuses for that butt whooping? I thought you guys were better than that? I just get a kick out of all the rushed judgement last week talking about our offense being bad after Ole Miss. We seem to get our points when the D isn't loaded with 5* and 4* players everywhere.

RE: nobody believed me when i said memphis was really good this year
It looked as though we were settling for keeping it close and hoping to pull out a big play or two to possibly win it.

It was a 10-3 game before we fumbled on our 23 which they scored off of and they scored with 1:20 left. We didn't put up tons of resistance stopping them from running it out. It looked like we were going to let them do it and not risk further injuries. Just my take, then they throw one in...

Gonna be hard to get yards when you run, run, run, punt. Then follow that up with run, screen, screen, punt. We played it safe and it didn't work out. They played to defend the run, the middle of the field was open all night. Not to mention the dropped passes when we did throw.

I'm not saying we would have beat them, however after every game I have seen us play this season, the 104 yards was not reflective of what we were/are capable of.

The staff played it safe and we kept it close. I fully support them on whatever they think is best, they have more than earned my trust.

I agree. Fuente has this team playing some solid football. Great fundamentals and nice play calling and execution. Man we've come so far in such a short period it's really hard for those of us who have followed this to believe.

Maybe. Of course Akron has a Sagarin rating higher than half the AAC and we were up 41-3 on them in the 3rd when we pulled the starters (on the road, where ECU fans will tell you we don't play well). Of course we go up about that much every game. Have now out scored our opponents 145-13 in the first half this year.

That kind of begs a question, if Floyd Mayweather fought 12 one armed men and knocked them all out in 10 seconds, does that mean he isn't a very good boxer? Does that mean if he fought average to slightly above average fighters he would lose?

I would love to have the chance to find out how good we really are. The opposing coaches keep saying how good we are, but maybe they are just covering for how bad they are.

IMO we're the best football team in this conference right now. ECU's record is looking worse as the season progresses and information comes in. I'd love to play them on the football field this season --- too bad really.
