Most of you are trying to delve too deep into the 4 teams. Let me simplify it for you and it should be clear to anyone.

5 so called "power conferences".
4 playoff spots.

5 - 4 = 1.

That in itself will cause the 4 team playoff to implode on itself let alone if the SEC or another conf ever gets 2 teams into it and 2 of the 5 conferences get left out.

The AAC, CUSA, MAC, MTN WEST & Sun Belt won't even need to out up a stink as the so called "power conferences" will take care of it for us. The best thing we can do is have an undefeated team from the our conferences so the media can alway ask "WHY NOT"?!?!? Which makes the 4 team playoff even worse looking.

Why? That would make it too easy for the committee. I want there to be utter chaos, so they realize they should have opened up it to more teams. Four teams is asinine.

Do the math. Someone is going to be left out. And then when two SEC teams get in it then all hell will break loose, because you have not just one P5 conference locked out you have two.

After one or two years the idiots will make it a six team playoff to ensure that every P5 school gets in. At that point then I hope every G5 school and conference files a multitude of anti-trust lawsuits.

Look, I've thought that 4 teams was doomed all along with the talk of expansion starting the day the teams are announced.

I just don't think one Saturday's results mess up anything.

If this year is (ND + 2xSEC + other) we will have an apocalypse.

It's suppose to be a mess. I'm good with the mess but it's also still early.

Not if a 13-0 Marshall rides in to save the day as your fourth seeded "other", edging out a third SEC team for the spot :)

The thing right now is it seems very likely that the SEC, Big XII, Big Ten and Pac XII will all have 1+ loss teams.
FSU and Notre Dame play, so that takes care of another undefeated, and FSU and GT would play if it got to that, so there would be another
Every Big Ten team has at least one loss
Every Big XII team except TCU and Baylor have a loss, I can't see Baylor going undefeated, TCU may be able to.
The Pac XII is down to Arizona. I'm not sold on them going undefeated quite yet.
The SEC has the 3 west teams. It's hard to see them not beating the hell out of each other Auburn is the only one I could potentially see going undefeated, the MS schools just haven't been there before.
Then there is Marshall.

It is going to be a freaking disaster. There is a maximum of 5 teams that could go undefeated based on the above.(granted I could have made a mistake somewhere) Let's say 2 of these teams above somehow go undefeated. How the heck do you choose between a ton of one loss teams? And then, let's say a conference championship loser is 4th before the game, but gets beat, and the 5th place team is in that same conference, lost to that team, and jumps them just because they didn't play the extra game. What happens then? I hope every team in the country except Marshall loses this year.(unless it's to UAB, we are trying to get bowl eligible!) A huge mess benefits everybody , because there is a chance of this sucker getting expanded sooner rather than later. Time will tell this year, but based on this past week, I really don't see this working out cleanly at the end of the season.

Baylor is clearly the best team in the Big 12. TCU travels to Baylor next week. I would wager a small fortune Baylor beats TCU and win at OU later in the year.

I still just don't trust Baylor's defense. I know they can score with the best of them, but I feel like they'll lose somewhere along the way.

Baylor should lose to Oklahoma.

Baylor will not lose to OU. If TCU was able to light up OU's defense, Baylor will have a field day with it. And Baylor's D is much improved from last season.

2-4 will be a revolving door throughout the year.

We know Auburn or State will go down next week. I think Ole Miss loses in College Station and Baylor to TCU.

I will not be indulging this insult of a postseason format that excludes 5 Division 1A/FBS Conferences from equal participation deliberately, it's madness! I'll watch FCS and Non-AQ Conferences and support their endeavors, damn this other crap until they get it right, if they'd chosen 8 instead of 4, I may have bought into it, but this is their own "Mt. They keep saying "oh, FSU isn't in LOL" and all the teams below them lose week in and week out.
