The guy must think nobody pays attention. Those "we teach em to tackle high" statements were the punch line at a dinner party last night.

Sam Craft, is actually a slot receiver - our starting rb and back up rb are out. This kid is athletic, he was a 3 Star basketball player too out of Memphis.

The season is over. Fire Hughes, NOW.
Who can we beat? SMU perhaps. 3-9

RE: Memphis Game Thread
Bearcat fans, I feel bad for you. MEMPHIS has certainly had their rough period from 2008 - 2012. I want to point out a few things:
1) TIGER fans started seeing this team compete last year even though there were only 3 wins. MEMPHIS should have beat MTSU and UCF, and pushed Louisville hard. Fuente has done an excellent job resurrecting the FB program.
2) This season, MEMPHIS was tied with UCLA at the Rose Bowl in the early 4th quarter and had the ball down only 7 with 3:30 left but couldn't pull it off. The game last week at Ole Miss was 7-3 in the 4th and the Rebels scored 17 in the final 9 minutes to make the score look better.Their final TD was on a pass with just under 2 minutes left and MEMPHIS will not forget that; most coaches would kneel and run the clock out. The point is, we are NOT the same MEMPHIS teams that got stomped on a regular basis.
3) QB Lynch is developing nicely. He's a RS Soph that was given the starting job last year when conventional wisdom was to start senior Karim. But Fuente wanted to prepare a young QB for future competition. Lynch took some shots; made some wrong decisions, but learned a bit.
4) I know this game seems like a crashing end. Trust me, MEMPHIS has been there. In the disastrous 2 year tenure of Larry Porter (2010-11), the TIGERS traveled to play Ark State in Jonesboro for game 3. They had upset MEMPHIS in 2010 and everyone vowed revenge. ASU whipped our ass 47 - 3. Talk about humiliating! Porter was finished then, but the AD waited until the day after the season to terminate his lousy butt.
I hope Kiel is just banged up and returns next week. He's damn solid. Your OL was missing starters and that is a position group that needs a regular set crew to jell into a unit. Yes, that D is bad, no argument. Tuberville might need to be dumped and the Bearcats get a young, hungry coach.
Good luck the rest of the season.

Lots of wasted good fireworks. I think me and about five other people stayed around to watch them, and I did from the parking lot.

Why are Cincy fans so shocked that we might be good? Did you not learn anything from our games against UCLA, Middle, or Ole Miss. All those teams are doing pretty good by the way.

You lost to Ole Miss by 3 touchdowns. Mtsu is mtsu. Please explain.
Prior to last season UC played in the Sugar Bowl and won Liberty Bowl and Belk Bowl trophies against the SEC and ACC respectively.
While you suspect they're lacking perspective, I'd suggest you are.

last year is over and gone...
MTSU has been bowl-eligible 4 of the last 5 years.
Cincy was picked first in the AAC.
and APSU is a buy game.
Memphis stayed with UCLA all the way, and hung 3-7 with Ole Miss into the 4th quarter.
considering we have teams like: SMU, Tulsa, Tulane, USF, and UConn left on the schedule...I'm feeling pretty good about the season right now.

I don't know how good Memphis is on an absolute scale, but they were much better than the Bearcats last night.

Not mad, just perplexed as to why a Memphis fan would suggest that getting blown off the field by Memphis isn't something to hang your head over. UC has been a pretty solid program over the past ten years and hasn't been routed off the field by many (BCS bowls notwithstanding). Despite Memphis claiming moral victory over UCLA you have to understand there is a difference in the perspective of "pretty good". It is a relative term and situation.

As I Tiger fan I can understand why Bearcat fans are upset.
Every time we play Cincy I can't help but think of 4th-and-27.
Haw can ANY defense, playing for a winning season to get to a bowl, lose the game and the season on a 4th-and-27 play?
I don't know what happened to Cincy from last year to this except that a new DC stepped in. Different systems? Needing buy-in from the players? There's only a few possible answers.

You guys are a fine team, but this wasn't a loss to Ohio State or another top tier P5 program. That's shocking to us given our past success and expectations given the current personnel. If you had our recent success and were just voted to win the conference at the beginning of the year, you'd react the same way. Like I said, great win for you guys. But we're not going to put you up on that pedestal because you don't belong there. I'll be rooting for Memphis to take this conference because you're infinitely classier than those s***lords down at ECU; please don't prove me wrong in that regard.
