The read option had Akron's defense on it's heels. Nice to see us using that effectively for a change.

Defense looking very solid early. Active up front.

With a 3 man rush, O'Connor gets a big sack.

Akron OL isn't showing well today.

He's eating that left tackle up. Several hurries, a holding penalty (probably should be two), and now the sack. They're gonna need to start putting a TE over there.

Terrible decision to not field the punt by Canty, followed by a terrible decision on the throw by Bolden. We need to get out of our own way, we are in the game!

RE: Game Day: Akron
Similarly to the ODU game, the defense is doing enough for this team to win. Now our offense needs to do their part.

Wickersham's boy Kyle Pohl has looked average at best, and was replaced (no word on an injury). Our front seven (or six?) has done a very good job today, especially Zappone and O'Connor.

Defense keeping them in the game. Front 7 showing they are the strength of the team. Need to get some offense going. Lack of any passing threat is hard to watch.

BTW, I realize the Pohl question is an Akron question, but EMU does not have a sideline reporter for our football productions.

Supposedly the Erin Andrews of the world are there to check on injuries and get the scoop so fans are not left out there speculation.

There is some reason to believe that our YOUNG defense will be the strength of this team.

The front seven is very young and playing very aggressive today.

I wouldn't be shocked if it was just for a change up. Pohl was sailing the ball...some of his completions were more great plays by the WRs. He did take a couple big shots though. Could be an injury.

That was NOT targeting. Zappone shouldn't be kicked out of the game. Lead with the shoulder.

Obviously an easy game to pick. Eastern is just a poorly coached team with sufficient talent to at least be competitive. Why in the hell is Rob Bolden playing out there? He sucks, number one and he isn't coming back next season, so no other QB's are being developed...he's a "lame" lame duck QB. If Creighton is going to play a senior QB, wouldn't you rather it been Tyler Benz. Too bad CC had to run him out of the program. This program is a complete mess.

i have to agree, bolden is bad, throws with his arm only no body or leg nd flat footed most of the time.

Sufficient talent there is not. The worst receiving corps I've seen in the two decades I've followed EMU football. How do you know that Benz was run out of the program? With Roback out with injury it is either Bell or Bolden so not sure there is a best choice either way. From what I've seen this year Roback is our best option at QB and he hasn't impressed me.

Bob, you're close on the score. It could have been 38 - 6.

Roback didn't travel, so Bell would have been the choice I would have made. Find out what you have for next season. If Bolden isn't going to win you any games than this season is a complete waste and we'll be auditioning QB's all next season. Such a waste.
