BYU losing game and lost QB
byu to miami beach bowl looking like a lock

taysom hill with leg fracture or broken leg, likely done for the year, and their game vs ucf just became very winnable, ucf likely favored to win it

Next game is at UCF. Think our odds just got a lot better with their Heisman-contending QB out.

Odds are stacked in our favor. They also lost 4 starters to injuries in that game. Their offense has to be adjusted for the new QB who is making his start of the season on the road in Orlando. BYU has nothing to play for except the Miami bowl now. We haven't looked the best, but i'll be disappointed if we lose

I wouldn't go far as to say stacked.

BYU is still a quality team. With an offense made to highlight the replacement QB. Who knows what BYU will be next week.

FSU had to beat Clemson without Famous Jameis this season. Quality teams are deep and have suitable replacements. With a week of preparation, BYU will make the best with the players they have.

I think it will be a quality game. More 50/50 in my opinion.

RE: BYU losing game and lost QB
from the ESPN game description:

"Backup quarterback Darell Garretson threw for 321 yards and three touchdowns, leading Utah State to a 35-20 upset of No. 18 Brigham Young on Friday night."

So while BYU had to go to their back-up, Utah state started their backup QB, so any notion that USU had an advantage after Hill's injury can be taken with a grain. USU outplayed them in all facets. BYU's backup threw three INT's.
BYU was favored by 20 and probably took the opponent too lightly. Shiite happens in small towns without airports.

How? ECU is not competing with Boise for a bowl slot but is competing with USU for it.

.

That Utah St back-up QB is a good player, also he played a good portion of last season as the starter when Chuckie Keaton went down with his knee injury. Also BYU was in trouble in that game even before Hill got hurt.

Houston played a sophomore WR at QB against us and almost won. Unless half thier o-line gets Ebola, I'm still not confident in a win on Thursday.

USU's victory over BYU must have been very satisfying. I doubt that they have enjoyed many, if any at all. UCF will handle BYU.

utah state was a defensive team, secondly the "back up" has been starting for almost 2 years now, chuckie keeton was hurt 2 years ago, came back this year and got hurt again yo start the season...byu backup had never played significant minutes ever

They have less than a week and have to travel.

I think you underestimate Houston. They played BYU tough after the first quarter.

Did you watch this game? BYU was going to have a tough time beating Utah St even with Tayson Hill, they were already in trouble when he went out with the injury. Utah St had a very good plan for this game on defense…They were able to stop BYU's running game, including Tayson Hill, and they were making BYU try to win he game throwing the ball.

You are right about that "back-up" QB for Utah St, he has a lot of experience and I think one could argue he is a better QB for Utah St than Chuckie Hill, he does not run as well but he seems to be a better passer, I was really impressed with him in this game.

it was close the first half similar to texas, but byu wore them out the second half in what ended up a blowout

hill was almost perfect passing before he was injured and the backup came in with 3 ints..byu wins imo if he stays in

You realize before the the back-up QB for BYU ever started a series BYU was down 28-14. Hill was not almost perfect in his passing, he missed two wide open receivers for what would have been touchdowns. I suspect you did not watch the game and are just looking at the box score…I watched every snap of the game and I will say it again, BYU was in trouble in this game even before Hill was injured. BYU was banging their head their head against the wall trying to run the ball against Utah St. Utah St had taken control of the game in the 2nd quarter…Not to mention they had a turnover in the red zone as well.

No will know for sure what would have happened if Hill would not have been injured and I guess the chance for them to come back would have been there but it did not look likely with the way the game was playing out.
