[old thread] Starkville coach at it again...re: Brady Davis
“@Riley_Blevins: Starkville coach Jamie Mitchell: "If Brady Davis isn't an SEC player, then I've never coached one."”

If Brady is truly a hard Tiger commit, what is this dude's deal? Trying to make himself look better?

If he is good enough for the SEC, then he MIGHT be good enough for the Memphis Tigers!

He isn't an SEC QB. But he might be an SEC player at special teams. He could play QB at Memphis. Coach needs to do this kid a favor and shut up.

Talked to a bullie fan who comes from Starkville and whose parents stlll live there and according to him, State already has enough qb's in house and don't need another one, so they aren't recruiting him. He also said Starkville High has 2 big time receivers and about 4-5 division 1 players on that team. It would be nice to sign some more of these guys, if that is true.

Don't get excited. Not 1 star can be found for the whole bunch-other than Brady- at 247.

I'll say it's ok to look at recruiting sites but they cannot see everyone. Give them some time on these guys, especially A.J. Brown (2016) and Raphael Leonard (2015).

Looking at their best highlighted catches this year half are caught by them going after the ball. "You know what? My job is easy," Davis said. "I have some big-time weapons around me. Those guys don't get enough credit. I just throw it, and my guys go get it."

Yeah, I know. That's my point. Why wasn't he special before now? Six games in and now he can contribute on the next level. Yet, before he was not even on the radar. Is he now talented enough because of the QB or has he always been? Who knows but two things are true, they're crushing the competition and the recruiting sites missed them before the season.
