Men's and Women's Cross Country at Kansas
On Saturday, October 4, both of our cross country teams will be in Lawrence, KS to compete in the Rim Rock Classic at the University of Kansas. The Rice women come into the meet ranked #3 in the South Central Region, and just outside of the national top 30. The men currently are #9 in the region.

This is a very low-key meet, in that a great number of the top teams are competing at Notre Dame. The toughest competition for both men and women will be the host Kansas team, whose men are ranked 7th in the Midwest Region, and the women who are ranked 11th in that same region.

Other teams with rankings are the Nebraska-Kearney men, 7th in Division II Central Region and the Pittsburg State women, who are 9th in the Division II Central Region.

The men will run 8K (4.97 miles) at 9:00 a.m., while the women will do 6K (3.73 miles) at 10:00 a.m.

Competing teams (Men and Women both, unless otherwise noted):

Kansas
Rice
Cal State-Fullerton
Emporia State
Fort Hays State
Grand Canyon
Highland CC (W only)
Missouri State (W only)
Nebraska-Kearney
New Mexico State
Oral Roberts
Pittsburg State
St. Mary (Kansas) (M only)
UMKC

Who is Ismail Herrera? He's not on either the cross country or track and field roster.
