College Football Fan Map (NY Times)
Looks like C-USA can claim 4 counties in the entire country. 2 for Southern Miss, and 1 each for Marshall and UTEP.

Old Dominion wasn't included in this as far as I can see.

They only counted what they called "top 82" teams.

It's by Zip Code, not County. Interesting seeing the percentages in each Zip Code.

Look at Ohio. This is why the MAC has so much trouble collecting a fanbase, there. Even on Cincinnati there is no mention of the Bearcats, using their formula. Granted Marshall has a small following outside the Huntington area, but at least we have a percentage in most of WV. Ohio State just dominates a state where there are 8 FBS schools in a relatively small area. We are pretty lucky to only have WVU as competition for funds and fans, as oppressive as that can be at times.

There is both zip codes and counties. Also there are only 82 teams because those are the only ones that got top 3 votes in each location.

Interesting, but not reliably compelling counting Facebook likes.

I have a hard time believing three schools got more votes in Norfolk than ODU.

They didn't even count half of the teams.

I'm pretty sure MT is in the top percentile in Murfreesboro area, ESPECIALLY in the only-MTSU zipcode.

Interesting but still leaving half the teams out skews it all pretty intensely.

I don't think they left them out. If they didn't have enough likes to be statistically relevant they didn't add them.
