They must not be counting students in general population polling, as the 45219, 45220, 45221, and 45218 area codes would all be about 95% UC fans. Regardless, they miss on more than that, I've lived in Toledo for 20 of my 28 years and Michigan holds the majority of Toledo for sure.

Believe the chart noted that they only had data for the Top 82 teams in regards to popularity (likes on fb).

I travel to Toledo on business on a monthly basis and concur it is more Maize and Blue up there than Scarlet and Gray.

The other area in Ohio that OSU might not be a plurality is in Southeastern Ohio (Athens, Marietta, etc.). Ohio University owns their county (there is nothing else there) and there are a lot of WVU fans all over the southeast corner of the state.

You haven't noticed the rust belt invasion of nc? People originally from Ohio are everywhere here.

No offense to cincy fans but I've yet to meet an Ohioan that I consider cool. Most are OSU fan toolbags that ask why things are a certain way in Nc. Go the **** home if you don't like it here.

Tampa has like the largest UF alumni association chapter in the country. UCF has slowly been taking over Orlando. We churn out thousands of alumni every year and most of them are now staying in the Orlando area and taking jobs in the area. Not surprised to see UCF controlling our area, especially east Orlando and Seminole County. If you look at the map, all of the UCF area that is darker is actually east of downtown Orlando. The west suburbs are still gator nation for sure.

Not sure I agree with this, first Miami is the largest UF alumni base in the country, not Tampa. Also if you look at west Orlando, its far from Gator Nation, UCF is a mere two points behind UF in popularity and in three to five years UCF will surpass them as well.

From what I see on TV in terms of butts in the seats, I would think the Florida map is 100% accurate.

Nc is really interesting. Nobody really owns this state, especially in football. Pretty awesome IMHO.

I promise you, as someone who grew up for 20 years in the west suburbs and currently works here, owns a home here, is involved in the community here in a multitude of ways, there are way way way way way more gator fans than UCF fans. Regardless of what a facebook likes comparison says.

Definitely something going on with zero mention of Chapel Hill. They are showing zero fans at all. Even in their home zip code.

I will also tell you that there are a lot in that area that go for both. As our alumni base seasons and incomes go up that changes as well.

UCF will takeover the Orlando market if they ever get a Power 5 Invite. There is also a huge presence in South Florida especially in Palm and Broward County

Map is FUBAR. For one, it's based solely on Facebook "likes". Hardly scientific. For another, UNC and Cal both have no fans in their home counties. Seems a tad unlikely. So in addition to being unscientific, it's also chock full of errors.

While I don't doubt that there are more Penn State fans in southeastern PA than Temple fans, I also can see your typical PSU grad living religiously off of three different Facebook accounts while your typical Temple doctor, lawyer, etc., is not going to waste his/her time. TV ratings show that Temple fans far exceed the number reflected in this map.

Cincy wasn't included in the poll for some reason. They did one of these last year and UC had the southwest part of the state covered all the way to Dayton. Not that that even means anything, they put this together based on facebook likes. Any statistician is probably slamming their head down against their desk in frustration from how statistically bad a poll like this is.

This also helps to explain the lack of "likes" for UNC and Cal-Berkley.

UNC has more bandwagoners, red necks, wal mart fans, bball only fans than any school in the state. Its funny, I have seen more idiots with UNC crap on after we put up 70 on them than before. It must be getting close to basketball I guess.

on the other hand I just started a new job where I come in contact with more white trash, bums, idiots than before so that could explain the increase ive seen
