RE: Disgruntled Fan Sues Liberty Bowl
I read the other day that the FCC is considering doing away with blackouts of sporting events.

What a blast from the past. Ole Jack Sammons.

I went to that game, Coach Paul Bear Bryant's last game, and my first at the Liberty bowl. What's up with the post? Nostalgia? I was pissed the other night bc the Ole Miss game was blacked out by ESPN3 in my area...am I connecting the dots?

Blacked out here too. I'm covered by Time Warner to be able to Watch ESPNU telecasts...and kinda ticked that I had to watch the game on a pirated game feed.

The FCC ruled recently get rid of blackouts: http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2014/...tors-warn/

Also, neat to see Jack Sammons' name. I lived down the street from him when I grew up.

Bud Dudley was hardcore old school. I remember hearing how Lapides said people were pleading with Dudley to lift the blackout for that game due to the historic situation of Bear Bryants last game. He wasn't moved though and kept the blackout in place.

That's hilarious. It's from 1982 and there is an article there about Kyle Macy of the Phoenix Suns. 04-cheers

His stubborn insistence on inviting Big 10 teams to the Liberty Bowl every year almost drove it into the ground.
