Aphids endangered
In the October issue of National Georgraphic, there is a story on genetically modified (GM) crops, which states:

"Reports from China indicate that harmful aphids have decreased....in provences where GM cotton has been planted."

That's hilarious! They need to come look in my garden sometime. No shortage of aphids there. I was not aware of aphids being much of a corn pest in the first place. The pest I am familiar with for corn is corn earworms.
