SMU worst team in the FBS?
Author doesn't really answer the question presented in the headline, but I think his idea was to let the readers decide... IMO, from what I've seen, SMU is a complete mess. Should be able to compete from a talent standpoint, but nobody looks comfortable out there, and I know a lot of it has to do w/ injuries as well, but that's a testament to the lack of depth as well. Worst team? I'd throw them up there with Miami (Oh.), UMass and Idaho...

On one hand, they are statistically the worst team in the country by a wide margin.
On the other hand, has anybody played a tougher schedule so far?
I would guess they are a mess, but not as bad as they appear to be.

Terrifying schedule, yes, but not once did they show life in any of those games, and North Texas just isn't a team you lose 43-6 to.
