Not "surprisingly" to me.

Now 31-0 Alabama.

Cue the "Go back to the Big 12" chants. A&M defense can't compete physically with Alabama.
45 - 0 Bama at the half. 03-nutkick

While watching halftime of A&M-Bama blowout, an Academy Surplus ad for tailgating goods; the entire thing clearly takes place on the west parking lot of Rice Stadium; yet show and mention of 6 or 8 college teams plus the Cowboys, no show nor mention of Rice. I think if they're going to use our stadium it ought to be in the contract that at least one of the schools' goods shown, no matter how fleetingly, should be Rice....but that's typical....

That ad was mentioned here last year when it first started playing. They probably paid Rice extra $$ NOT to have a Rice mention anywhere. 03-hissyfit

SMU getting killed 38-3 by Cincinnati at home. I heard an interesting stat that SMU has not had a quarter this year in which they've held their opponents scoreless. I wonder if Cameron Nwosu is regretting his decision to play another year of college football.

Watched early and there couldn't have been mor than 3K in the stands. It will be interesting if SMU allows the money men to pick the next coach. Financially they may not have much of a chance not to.

FIU scores first, but Marshall looks like the better team. 14-7 Marshall late in the 1st quarter.

RE: Other games
UCLA holds off Cal 36-34 in an interesting game out west. The Golden Bears had a chance to run the ball two straight times late and set up a potential game-winning field goal (would have been near 50 yards but it was possible). Instead they threw the ball deep to try to score and UCLA intercepted it for their first win at Cal since 1998.

RE: Other games
Notre Dame looking decent against Florida State - up 14-10 near the half.

Interesting happenings in the Swamp - Missouri leads Florida 42-0 in the 3rd quarter despite having just one offensive touchdown and still with less than 100 yards of total offense (they have a punt return and kickoff return for a TD, a fumble return for a TD and a pick 6). Florida has five turnovers.

Just looking at stats, but seems like Kenny Hill really fell off after the first 3 or 4 weeks.

Also, USM leads UNT 30-20 in the 4th quarter over in Denton. UNT went with their junior QB over their redshirt freshman who has been turnover prone, and he's done okay for the most part. But USM has things going offensively and is looking good for the upset after UNT just missed a short field goal.

Think that (our earlier injuries not withstanding) we were fortunate to draw USM early

Would be nice if we can finally play a solid, 60-minute game at home this year.
